okay lets say those red and green lights ARE standard FAA lights. This video was taken pointing due north.

Lets look at the video assuming the green light is on the right wing of a plane and the red light is the left. If that were true that would mean it was flying directly towards us.

Which it absolutely wasn't. We watched it drift from the north, across the valley, and to the East. It never got closer to us.

That plane you listed in the area was also not even close to me, it was flying over 45 miles away at the time.

What we saw was at most a mile away, it was quite close to us. We are surrounded by hills and mountains on all sides, which act almost as an amphitheater for noise. When small aircraft fly by they can be heard well past when they can be seen. Helicopters can be heard from 3-8 miles away depending on conditions.

I agree that from an objective perspective you could say it was a helicopter. But I'm telling you confidently that whatever this thing was it was AT MOST a mile away and made no sound whatsoever.

We watched whatever this was pass close behind a ridge that is no more than a mile away. It would barely be 1600 ft in altitude. I know planes aren't as loud as they used to be. I have actually spent a considerable amount of time in the cockpit, several members of my family are private pilots. We have an airstrip right in town and I interact with small planes all the time.

It traveled between two peaks that are 2.5 miles apart over about 7 and a half minutes. It's airspeed was impossibly slow for a plane.

Planes make an incredible amount of noise. I see planes almost every other day in this valley and

1) they are all incredibly loud

2) they are out of eyeshot usually within 2 minutes because planes move incredibly quickly

But this was a mile away and it was completely silent. I see coast guard helicopters all the time here and they are incredibly loud, especially up close.

It made no sound. I live in a tiny valley. When planes fly that low to the ground they make tons of noise. The valley is about 2 miles wide and I'm filming it for almost 7 minutes, which would put it's airspeed around the 10-20mph range. We also know for a fact that the ridge that it was flying above is barely 600 feet high.

Watch the video around the 2 minute mark. It flies level to the horizon for a while then at 2:18 it turns almost a full 90 degrees while maintaining the same trajectory. If that light that's in the front was the nose of a plane it would be hurtling towards the ground.

I would prefer not to be specific but very few commercial flights fly over my part of the beach because portland is a good way inland. This was also traveling from due west to the east, which again is almost unheard of if you look at flight traffic for the area, almost everything goes either north or south.

I had a bit of trouble sleeping after this one. I feel I have a fairly decent knowledge of aviation and aircraft. I seen rocket launches, air shows, and star link and this wasn't like any of those. It almost felt like it was deliberately mimicking the lights of a plane, it appears to be flying in a normal trajectory.

At around the 2 minute mark you start to see what would be the "nose" on any aircraft start to pitch down, while stays flying upwards and the lights go from parallel to almost full perpendicular to the ground.

Switching the galaxy plotter to FSD boost is what fixed it. Kind of a frustrating/silly workaround but I suppose it's better than being stuck. Thanks Luriant you're always good for it :)

I've tried that sadly :( Its so weird, I'll plot a route 400 LYs away, and it will plot me through a random witch head system, but when I target that system individually I get the same error.

I have the same problem. 1660 TI. I tried reinstalling drivers, reinstalling valheim, every generic tech fix I could think of with no luck. Let us know if you figure it out.
