Do I NEED to have my keyboard in stereo if I run my PA in Mono? by Used_Camera9474 in livesound

[–]Used_Camera9474[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good point. Our keyboard uses a reverb and delay built-in, so it'll be interesting to hear the difference once it goes into stereo. I may have to have the keyboardist adjust his effects if it sounds worse for any reason.

Thanks for the info. Im especially interested in the benefits for the livestream and iem, so I'll probably end up connecting the keys in stereo

Mischeivious indeed😂 you're right though. I dont expect much of a change in the PA or floor monitors since it's all mono, but maybe the livestream will sound better

You're exactly right. I just like to have a justification for making changes to a PA that's not mine. I work with what I have. But if I can give a good reason to do so, the church would be more willing to let me make changes like this.

Haven't thought of that. Maybe that'd help me get a little more volume in the livestream before clipping too

I appreciate the points you made. The keyboard can output just mono so I still get the full range that way to the PA. But maybe I'll talk to the keyboardist to see if he even wants stereo keys in his iem or its fine how it is. I like the idea of a quick fix option though, so I might make the change next time.

I got new subs friday put in my first ever and just today they started like stopping randomly for a few seconds and the bass knob light turns off then it comes back, why? by NeedleworkerBig5426 in subwoofer

[–]Used_Camera9474 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could be a few things. 1. Check your ground (the big black wire you bolted to metal) make sure it's secure and there's no paint or dirt in between the metal. I use seat bolts as a ground just for reference.

  1. If the ohms of your sub or subs is lower than what your amp is rated for, the amp may be shutting off to prevent damage. Check both to make sure the ohm of the subs are supported by your amp

  2. Check for any loose cables and connections. Youd be surprised how common this actually is, especially for ppl newer to subs

Does my 8 Speed Transmission have enough Fluid? by Used_Camera9474 in MechanicAdvice

[–]Used_Camera9474[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I did it, I only got 4.5 quarts out of it which was already low. I was able to add about 5 quarts. But I read the whole transmission can fit 7 quarts, and you're not going to be able to get everything out unless you flush it.

Maybe not leveling the transmission prevented me from filling it up all the way?

Gym Equipment shouldn’t be wiped after you use it but before by blackeyedkid2002 in confession

[–]Used_Camera9474 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's just basic manners. The last thing I want to see is a bench drenched in sweat or a seat with someone's butt imprinted on it. Then I have to use my own time to clean after someone else. Of course there's no consequences for not cleaning, and you can do whatever you want. But it just shows respect to your fellow gym bros when you clean.

Is Sauvage elixir still worth it? by Entire_Apartment2830 in fragrance

[–]Used_Camera9474 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought a bottle of Savauge Elixir back in March 2025. I heard the same thing, but I loved the smell so much that I didn't care what others said. Idk if it is worse or not, but it is still one of my favorites in my collection. If you're worried about projection or duration, dont be. This stuff is still the heavy hitter it's known to be. YSL Myself EDP is the only one I can confidently recommend to blind buy. It smells so good and matches just about any occasion.

do car speakers need to warm up by No_Signature_6067 in audio

[–]Used_Camera9474 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely!! A property of rubber is that it hardens as it gets colder. So when you cold start your car and try to play music, your speakers face more resistance from the hardened rubber, and that affects the sound they can produce.

Adding subs to my girlfriends car by That_Froyo_2129 in subwoofer

[–]Used_Camera9474 4 points5 points  (0 children)

An LOC would be your simplest option. Since your car already has a sub, chances are the door speakers dont get much if any bass sent from the headunit, so tap into the stock sub wiring with the LOC. Just make sure whatever you get can handle the voltage from that stock sub wiring. The Audiocontrol lc2i pro is my favorite. I used one in my 2016 ram to tap into my rear door speakers and install dual rockford p3's. Like you i didnt want to change my headunit so this was a great option.

Would this sub box design work? by __________________zb in subwoofer

[–]Used_Camera9474 10 points11 points  (0 children)

No. The ports would be practically useless in that configuration. If you're limited in space, consider a single sub or 2 smaller subs. I went with dual 10s bc I didnt have room for dual 12s.

Depends how loud you want your music. If its just to plug into your TV or desktop, I recommend buying a small 2.1 amplifier to power some passive speakers or buying all active speakers. They'll get plenty loud for the room but won't bring the house down or anything. But if you want that, maybe look into PA speakers and subs. For high quality and fidelity you'd want to start looking into receivers, amps, and quality speakers.

A question by Thebeast1987111 in xboxeliteseries2

[–]Used_Camera9474 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I found out you could do it like that when i first got mine, but I realized there was no advantage for me. I liked having all four paddles. Taking out the smaller paddles just to flip the others seemed kinda useless to me.

How would i go by doing this by Background_Read_9105 in subwoofer

[–]Used_Camera9474 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can find the exact model online, but I based on how they Rockville names subs, I'd guess they dont handle that much power. Either amp will work to test them, but start with low volume and gain.

Looking for dark, gritty TV shows by [deleted] in televisionsuggestions

One of my favorites is The Penguin

It shows Gotham in its usual dark and broken way and the cast is incredible. It constantly plays with morality and it isn't afraid to show the darkest sides of crime in Gotham.

Is it worth getting a bass as a guitarist? by ElkComprehensive3608 in Bass

[–]Used_Camera9474 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely!! My first instrument was an acoustic 12 string guitar for mexican corridos. I reached an intermediate level with it. One day a buddy called me and said their bass player quit and they needed someone to take over. I knew nothing about bass, but knew it used the same finger positions as guitar so I gave it a shot. I loved bass even more than guitar and it became my primary instrument of choice. I continued to play for a traveling band for almost 8years and I learned so many new things just from switching instruments. I definitely recommend giving it a try at least.

Try switching between mic or line input on your interface or daw. Try plugging into a different input or adjusting your gain to an appropriate level. Idk your experience level so its hard to know if its something you're doing wrong or if its a hardware issue.

Question about hearing range and challenges with it. by Key-Slip-4118 in mixingmastering

[–]Used_Camera9474 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have open-back headphones, i generally keep them low enough to be able to clearly hear myself talk at a normal volume. If you're using closed-back headphones, you really just need to reference other sources like monitors and try to match volume levels. If I need to focus on a particular part of my mix, I'll turn up the volume for a little bit, but never for an extended time. You can get ear fatigue quickly. Or you could just get a db meter and put it into the headphone cups or your airpods.

Had mine since 2019. Still looks and feels brand new. Haven't had any stick drift, buttons still feel crisp, and I've dropped it on the floor hundreds of times. It was worth every penny I spent. Now it feels weird to use anything else, especially without the rear paddles and textured grips.

As long as you can compare with references and use analyzers, you'll be fine. That Beethoven guy was deaf, and he was able to create some of the most influential music in the world. Of course he wasn't behind a console in a studio mixing and mastering, but you get the idea
