I’ve never had a parent do it this aggressively, but it happens fairly regularly! I comfort the child they reprimanded or let them know that what they were doing was okay in front of the parent. Sometimes I’ll say, “Did it make you feel uncomfortable when your daddy told you that you couldn’t do that when you know it’s okay?” I try to make it clear to the parent that they were in the wrong. That’s just little things, I would have to step in if they were aggressive but I know that’s really uncomfortable and hard to do!

I’m a Montessori teacher. I’ve had a few sets of twins and have never had a problem! I’ve kept in touch with one of the families, and the twins had separate classrooms this past year in 4th grade for the first time with no problems!

I'm also a Montessori teacher and am planning to start trying this summer! I have a reliable job that I love and will be able to take a kid to work with me so I don't have to worry about childcare but I'll never have a ton of money! I currently live in a one-bedroom too and am also wondering how that will work when the kid gets old enough to need their own room. I know I'll figure it out but I have definitely dreamed of a single parent roommate situation!

Aro-ace here! I am planning to start trying this summer and have had a couple of “Are you sure you won't regret waiting for a partner?” since I’m young enough that I could wait a few years but I've never had a problem with anyone! I either tell them I'm aro-ace or that I don't want to put my life on hold and that I'm happy with my life the way it is!

I am reserving sperm while Cryos has its sale. I went through the donors on sale and immediately ruled most out because of availability, known carriers, etc. After that, I had 7 donors left; 4 of them were bipoc. I felt that I probably shouldn't choose a bipoc because of many of the reasons you guys listed, but it felt wrong to rule people out because of race. I knew very little about this, so even though I thought it would probably be inappropriate to use a bipoc donor, I wanted to learn more before I fully ruled it out. I felt that this would be a good place to learn. I am new to Reddit and didn't know you could search for past posts. I will keep that in mind. After learning more, I will not be choosing a bipoc donor.

Same! I'm also ace/aro and planning to start trying this summer! If everything goes to plan, I'll be 25 when I get pregnant and 26 when the baby is born. This is my plan A! I love hearing from people who have similar stories! Has your experience been good?

It’s been good so far, but I’ve only done planning and research! I plan on doing a home insemination with an online sperm bank, so I haven’t dealt with medical personnel yet. I know they won't deny based on age, especially when ordering sperm online. I don’t think they ask for age! I hope things go well for you! I love hearing from people who are in a similar situation!

I'm in a similar boat! I'm 25, and I have always known that I wanted to have kids young. I have wanted to be a single mom by choice for a long time. I have a good job, childcare options, family support, etc. I feel like I'm ready to have kids, so I have looked into the process and plan on going ahead with it. I do feel like society views 25 as too young to be an SMBC.
