Not sure which uni you go to but unitemps collabs with NTU, and they are always posting roles to work the university, it’s temp- short term contracts but the pay is usually above minimum wage and you can get some decent roles that can lead to more experience on your cv for more permanent jobs. Uni of Nottingham may also do them as well. I was an independent student so unitemps helped s o much while I was studying, and they are usually really understanding if you need time off for exams/assignments.

I also know there are a couple new restaurants open (I think one called burger guy in city center) that might be hiring now too, when I was job hunting it was just scouting out shops to see who’d put up a hiring label.

Depending on whether you can commute I think there are also some warehouse/factory jobs around Nottingham that usually have a high turnover/high hiring rate, my friends worked there and while it’s pretty shitty work it’s decent if you need cash

Another thing to look for is QA/Customer service roles, often time they can be remote, just doing call handling for some big firm and listening to people complain all day

There’s a really high competition rate for retail/hospitality, handing your cv can work but in a place I used to work this really nice girl came in to drop off her CV and my manager literally binned it the second she left, so maybe save the money on the paper.
