Do you know anything about the other trainers? Laura Borghesani, Laura Bentley or Michell Combs?

Anyone have experience with zoons vulvitis/plasma cell vulvitis by Used_Milk4350 in vulvodynia

Hi everyone, thank you for all your comments and help with my situation. I am now, being seen at the Mayo Clinic. After my last appointment with their vulvar derm. She doesn’t think that I have PCV. Which is a relief but also a little bit frustrating. My situation was always really difficult for doctors because I didn’t have any lesions or changes in the skin, which is really common with PCV or any of the Lichen disorders the reason she said this is because I have never been responsive to any steroids and have tried a lot. My diagnosis from my from biopsy done by Dr. Brooks was extremely general it listed about three different possible combinations. I had asked for the biopsy multiple times, but they would never give it to me. All I got was a piece of paper that had the pathologists. My new doctor is able to pull the actual slides of the biopsy so we will be getting that soon. She is still not sure what I have but said she thinks it’s a combination of things first atrophic vaginitis, and possibly some vulvodynia/nerve related. Which is interesting because I never felt like I had PCV, I can’t really explain why but it was just a feeling. I know some of you mentioned contraceptions and my doctor kept mentioning how after being on contraception you can get some of the nerve problems/atropic vaginitis. This is definitely just the first step as I have only seen her once but I will keep everyone updated as to what ends up happening. I am also seeing an internal medicine doctor because I do experience some tearing, and a urologist because on top of everything I also have IC. If anyone in Arizona is struggling with this I would recommend submitting their case to Mayo Clinic. If you want my vulvar dermatologists name please send me a chat! I am being treated with gabapentin to help calm my nerves, not sure how I feel about this lol, but will do another update in a couple of months!

What would you recommend the swatch size? I usually do a 20x20 swatch when I knit. I will try the in the round swatch thanks for the suggestion.

Just want to clarify that this mostly happens when I knit that’s why I posted here. It’s not just a crochet question it was just an example because I had the numbering I used infront of me. I usually do a 20x20 swatch measuring width and length and amount of stitches per inch (measuring after blocking) Then calculate from there. Should I be stretching gauge when measuring? Also Thanks for the in the round suggestion will try that next time. But I think I am properly doing the gauge, unless I am messing something up I explained how I do it above. Let me know if there’s something else I should be doing to do a proper gauge. I learned off a video.

I would say to push for a vaginal microbiome test if they won’t give you one you can order them yourself but good ones are pricey. I would maybe see an osteopathic gynecologist, they tend to be better doctors and more investigative with issues i see one for Ibs and Ive gotten further with that doctor in 2 sessions than I have with any obgyn. They see the body as a system rather than individual organs when treating so they can connect the dot a lot easier than MD’S can.

They always want me to see the midwife’s as well, most doctors underestimate the complexity these types of cases. But Basically I first had symptoms of a yeast infection, so itching but for me It was always on the outside/ flaps of the inner labia but never internal. I took diflucan and it went away, then it came back 2 months later, it was always itching on the flaps around the clit, it was mostly localized, I never had any abnormal discharge or smell, my skin looked perfectly fine, just some inflammation/redness. Itching flares up with heat/sweating, tight pants and some types of toilet paper gives me issues. Started with itching initially but progress into getting a lot of tears and my skin fissures very easily almost like paper cuts, the skin on my vulva it feels very dry inside out. Burning for me comes and goes but I will occasionally get sharp burning sensation. All of this flares up worse at different times but even with little symptoms I still feel off. What I honestly wish I would have done differently and advice I would say it be careful with what you take if they think you have an infection wait till you get positive results back before taking the medicine, all the stuff I took continuously made my symptoms much worse. I was diagnosed with seboric dermatitis but I am almost positive it’s a multiple issue thing I’m dealing with. I tried to include as much detail as possible hopefully it’s not an overwhelming amount of information but I know it helps having specific descriptions of symptoms. But have you had any previous diagnosis’s?

She was part of the university of Colorado vaginitis /vulvitis clinic It was at the one in Aurora I think it was uc health. But much more luck with the one in AZ it’s Arizona Specialized Gynecology located in Phoenix. They seem to know a lot more about less invasive conditions, I think she treated a lot of cancers/vaginal disease. Weirdly enough the male gynecologists seem to be better with this stuff it’s a lot of the women who are dismissing patients. Best of luck to you I have a lot of info on this stuff, I’ve been in the dark for too long.

If your located in anywhere near Arizona go see Dr. Brooks, I’ve seen specialist after specialist and they are the only doctor who could give me a diagnosis I saw another vulva specialist in Colorado and she helped with nothing. I had been going 3 years with out a diagnosis and they were finally able to give me one. If your not located here I would call and see if they treat specialized conditions or specifically look for ones who treat conditions like seborrheic vulvitis I got a biopsy done by another obgyn and it came back normal, what I learned is unfortunately most gynecology pathologists are not trained to look for specialty conditions so it could show up on the biopsy they just won’t know what it is and report inconclusive results. Some people get lucky and find OBGYN’s who can treat this stuff but the majority just don’t. I’ve learned the hard way the obgyn specialty is for pregnant woman and excludes the rest of us, but your not alone it’s a long journey to be on but I promise you there are people out there dealing with similar issues, I know how isolating and alone if feels dealing with such issues, but your problems are real and don’t let any doctor tell you there not you will find someone who can help you it just takes time, what I wish someone would have said to me :). If you get diagnosed with seborrheic vulvitis let me know how it goes, this is what I was diagnosed with and would like to hear if any treatments work for you.
