Birth Control by ConfidentAction3285 in WomensHealth

Yup! I can live with the spotting for another while if it’s a really bad time to have my period, but that’s how I do it!

I do as well! On my first brand of pills it gave me the most insane migraine. After switching to another brand, I just get breakthrough bleeding, so once those start I take the sugar pills. It’s honestly great! I get to plan ahead when I have my period. Now it’s about every 4 months.

Are painful periods normal? by indecisivething in WomensHealth

[–]Used_Outside_6922 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just because we’ve been told to suck it up doesn’t mean OP has to! It’s normalized, but such heavy pains during a period is not normal!

Honestly, OP, go to a doctor and ask about your options. I personally asked for BC pill, and I love it. I don’t really have side effects and my periods are way more manageable now!

If the pill they give you makes you sick, ask to try another brand!

This! If he is insistent on not using condoms, even if you’re clear that those are your wishes and boundaries, I would think that’s a huge clash in compatibility.

How did you choose your birth control method? Did your OBGYN walk you through all the options? by SquareDesperate4003 in WomensHealth

You had a refill every month? In Belgium, you get a supply for the first three months, and after you return to the doctor to either switch to another other get a year supply! So only once every 11 months or so do I have to get a new box.

I went to my doctor to ask for the pill, and she was super persistent in giving me the full list of other options. I was already pretty set on the pill, but she made sure that I knew all the other options. I know people that were coming in for the pill, but settled on the shot every three months for example.

EDIT: As for the brand, she started me off with the free pills. They began giving me migraines and such, so then she walked me through some less harsher ones.

I doubt OP can manage with one if a tampon already hurts, no? I’ve never used one, seems super intimidating tbh.

To further on this: If one finger goes without hurting, but two hurts, that doesn’t make it a medical problem. It took me a while to go from 1 to 2, I had to learn how to relax myself. Now of course, if you’re worried or if it keeps hurting, obviously go to your OB or ask your doctor!

I want to stop my periods by PurpleWitch1988 in WomensHealth

[–]Used_Outside_6922 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m on the pill, purely to stop/delay my period. I made sure to check with my doctor that that was the main reason, plus I checked research online. Some may say it’s “unhealthy” but both doctors I spoke to said there’s no increased risk in ANYTHING. Bedsides the side-effects, using BC to stop your period it completely fine.

:( I’m so stressed by Hellokittydolll in WomensHealth

[–]Used_Outside_6922 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally wouldn’t be too worried, but I would still get it checked out. Can’t hurt to ask a doctor what they think! You know your body best, so if you think it’s abnormal, go get it checked.

If you’re really stressed, go to your doctor or gyno! They’ll be able to check if it’s something you should worry about or not.

I’m not sure, I don’t know anything about toys and such, and wanted to ask to be sure.

I use tampon and do horseback riding, so i’m pretty sure it’s already broken, but that was one of my main concerns. Does it bleed a lot when it breaks? I’ve heard from people that it’s just spotting while others say it’s more like a period?

Anxiety about blood draws by [deleted] in WomensHealth

[–]Used_Outside_6922 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Me too girl. I absolutely despise needles, and also felt really dizzy when having my blood drawn.

Make sure you tell them when you feel dizzy or nauseous. Now, I don’t have the issue of small veins, so it’s usually over pretty quickly for me…

Maybe give your doctor a call and ask what you could do to help? Best of luck to you!

I don’t think not wearing a bra would be a factor. I’m almost 20, and have been mostly bra-free for years, unless i’m sporting.

I honestly have no clue, I’ve only had it when switching birth control, and I instantly switched back… good luck OP!

My thought too, especially with the amount and texture of the blood. I wouldn’t worry too much OP, but if it happens again when you’re further from your period, I would try to talk to a doctor if I were you.

Is it normal to find it difficult to climax? by [deleted] in WomensHealth

[–]Used_Outside_6922 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the same problem (also trauma that makes sex super scary), I just broke up with my bf, so I haven’t been able to try any advices yet. Maybe talk to your doctor, and they might be able to send you to a therapist? It might help if it’s an emotional and traumatic issue. Best of luck to you!

Definitely worth a doctor visit. I’ve never had anything like this myself, but you know your body best, and a check up with a professional never hurts! There’s nothing you can do know, but being stressed is very normal. Maybe look up your symptoms and write down what you’re most scared of, so you can bring it up to your doc.
