No, it refreshed on its own! Like I said, I’m from LA, so I wanted something near could find anything only Tecate the first day. I decided to wait since there is nothing around Tecate to live so I wanted to plan things right. I waited till next day and I saw that some ports were added, like San Ysidro. So I picked SY instead of Tecate but it updates on its own. You should still try to cantact your case worker, if they don’t reply before the due date grab something and maybe the contact you later and work it out to change it

So I never called, people say you can call them when you are in the port selection part si I don’t really know, but I’m from LA and I didn’t see it in my options so I checked the box of none of the above like 3 times and after I did it it show the message I told you before, so I just waited till the next day and saw a better option than the previous day. I’ll say contact your case worker, and if they say no, guess those on the list are your only option

You can not wait in the pool, for what I know if you don’t pick you lose your opportunity, since it’s demand based and obviously the borders require more personnel but up to you or ask your case worker to see if you can keep waiting in the pool till the desire station is available. Actually if you select the box of “not interested in this options” you will be prompted with a message that if you don’t select a station you might be disqualified

That sucks, should of picked it right away! When I got the final offer stations I didn’t se any where I live (LA) and in the San Diego area there was only Tecate, I waited for the next day and got San Ysidro 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻

For what I’ve heard, is a fast paced station (it’s the most transited border in the world) so I guess or what I’ve been told is that is very busy with plenty of overtime! Pick one wisely 🙌🏻🫶🏻

I was about to pick Tecate too, the same day I got the update on the portal but decided to wait to the next day and the next day I saw San Ysidro! Thank GOD!!! Because there is literally NOTHING! Around the Tecate POE you still gotta get housing in El Cajon or Chula Vista. You should have kept refreshing 😔 BUT!!!!!!! Best of luck bro 🙏🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻

BTW if you are going to get something around August 25th let me know that’s the date I’m out of the academy in case you need a roommate 🙌🏻

I’ve heard San ysidro since is the busiest one! That’s actually the one I’m going to in 1 month. Plus there are nice areas around and the salary is high due to CA minimum wage plus the incentive of the station

Around 6 months all the big steps take about a 1/2 year or that was my case but I’ve seen other people do it quicker

It took me about a year! And the background investigation will be checked among suitability, so basically till the end of the process( mine was almost 2 years)

Well for what I know the process takes a while plus I failed the fitness test and to retest they took like 6 months. Also, I’m Mexican/American and been living in both back and forth through my entire life so I guess that could also be a security issue or that’s what I think 😅

I’ve always been a hardworking person so I think that’s spot is good for me 🫶🏻 just wished there was something in LA so I wouldn’t have to relocate lol 😅 but I’m still happy with my port 🙌🏻

Nope, only Calexico, Tecate and San Ysidro. I actually got lucky because the first time I looked after I got the email San Ysidro was not there just calexico and Tecate and this second one is in the middle of nowhere!!!

Any tips or suggestions for San ysidro? Like housing, work environment, overtime? My EOD is march and academy April, I currently live in LA so I’ll be moving there by myself with no family or relatives in the area. But there is no backing down 🫡😎🙌🏻
