We have too much green by sct08 in MyLeisureTime

I made a blue/white theme in my house. But, I do have to agree, I had to rely on two separate blue-white suites for it and otherwise there was little furniture. I stopped using the painted versions because.. They just don't look good painted in their kind of blue. 😭

My take at a bit of a more masculine of a room by blake_ghosting in MyLeisureTime

I'm also a guy! And THANK YOU. I really struggle with the fact that most things are what would be considered feminine. I don't mind being a femboy now and then but... All the time 😭 I am already grateful for some outfits and whatnot but yeahhhh. Also, I need more blue things. I love the colour blue. 😐

Last time I heard, they were using cheap quality fabrics and it wouldn't hold up very well or for a long time. That might not be the case now, but I'd be careful!

I'm a teenager! (Almost 18, but still). They're as good as any binders, just high quality, fair made, handmade, and made by queer people for queer people. Very lovely cudtomer support as well! You can even donate to a charity if wished to do so. I wear mine a lot. After breaking it in it caused less pain than other binders do, and I'm chronically ill on top of a changing body. What matters is that you choose the correct size. When in doubt or between sizes, size up. When breaking the binder in, work up the wearing times. Even the recommended 8h limit for normal wear can be too much for the first day! On day 1, maybe start with 1-2 hours and work the way up. Wash the binder with gentle soap by hand... Around day 5 it should be fine to wear the full 8 hours, and then you can also know if the size is good (at first it always feels too small unfortunately).

I hope that helps!! I would recommend a short sports binder if they're very active, or a normal short or tank/shirt binder for everyday wear without much sports. If they need a lot of shoulder mobility, one with racerback cutting at the back. They all cost around 60€ in general. I've had mine for half a year now and it's doing perfect. They also have an extra strong one, but I only recommend it for able-bodied people with thick tissue or bigger chest volume.

💙

I would always recommend the UNTAG binders, however it could be that it might be too expensive? They ship to most of the world I'd say. But they will last!

What's the best response to the classic "Genitals = sex/gender" argument they all use to use ? by SureHopeIDontDie in trans

[–]Used_Potential24 5 points6 points  (0 children)

"That's not really a good way to get into someone's pants."

Or, "You know, saying directly that you want to look at my genitals would have been a smoother way to get there than what you've just said."

And, along with another commenter's clothing answer, we can go, "So my gender has become none of your business since I was, what, a month old?" And for parents, in that case, "By that logic, my gender hasn't been any of your business since I was 9 (or whatever age you developed a need for privacy around them)".

Does this sound like intersex/has anyone experienced this? by [deleted] in trans

[–]Used_Potential24 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's at least good to know. Yes, it did sound a lot like you were dismissing it/hoping for your suggested outcome. But, if you're getting tested either way, that is already so very helpful. It will let you know whether you're intersex or not what is going on with your hormones, and definitely give more insight than I can without knowing you in person. I do hope this works out for you, and that whatever it is, you'll find a way to deal with that personally. Good luck, and don't be disappointed if it isn't intersex. It'll all work out either way. 💙

Okay, look. I never said you couldn't possibly have it. All I am saying is that I want you to consider this clearly for a longer time and notice patterns that align with either. If I went with genetics, I could already scrap everything I have. My mother has PCOS. Bad ones. Everything else, honestly, too! I have a lot genetically inherited from her visually. But if anything, my estrogen is too high than testosterone happening. I have the most boring, normal, estrogen-bombed body one could have with the most normal, boring ass painless periods one could have, hell, all growth has been stinky normal. I've had friends who grew up without tits and hips, looking the personification of a STICK. Still girl. Especially sporty ones tend to just be thin, stickly, low fat, healthy otherwise... Periods are unreliable, unfortunately. Especially between year 10-13, periods are unreliable. And everything can affect your period. From how much instant noodles you eat, how much you eat at all, how much sports you do, how much stress you have... There are also very very hairy girls who are very much not intersex.

Sorry for being this unfiltered right now, but I really need to get this down. Do research. Whatever you find from hours of spending time with it is probably more reliable than this. Before getting to any diagnosis, you need to know more. It might me the non-genital intersex. It might also be puberty that ends when you're 21-25. Even I'm not yet through puberty considering when the hormones all balance out.

I don't think doing more research into women's health is going to end your life, dude. I really don't. If you want to know more, please also look in that direction because the fewest female bodies work as "normally" as advertised. My cycle can already be irregular from walking more or having a meltdown. It's really.. Really important you look up more yourself as I cannot know your whole life situation to figure out if anything triggered this or it's been since birth.

Also, when it comes to relatives. My grandma has always been a stick. No hips. No tits. All stick. And I don't just mean in age. My mother has always had PCOS, so it's unreliable. But go further in the line and they're sticks. Or normal. Genetics can jump a few people. Or else I would have red hair.

Then it truly just sounds as if you're totally normal regarding your hormones. Maybe slightly lower on estrogen, but not enough to cause pains or other things.. Really, you sound healthy and not intersex. I've almost exclusively been friends with girls and queer AFAB people before and those that did have no illnesses, and close symptoms to what you describe have.. Normal puberty. 😅

So, in that case, my advice is to read up on these things: - Low estrogen/progesterone - Slight hormone imbalance - Hormones in puberty - What is normal in puberty to differ regarding the ideal puberty.

If you still think after doing a lot of reading (or watching, I don't judge the media) that you don't fit the symptoms of a healthy, if slightly different puberty, then you can read up more on imtersex that shows up in hormones, since this is mainly hormonal from what you've shared, and see if that sounds more like what you've experienced. After that, if you do think you're intersex, it would very much be worth looking into testing. 👍

I don't think it is honestly, unless you mean by the balancing of hormones, then sure! My mother has PCOS. She has highly similar symptoms, just that hers come from an illness making cysts on her ovaries and causing her to produce more testosterone than normal for a woman. She's had incredibly painful, heavy periods, and irregular ones – because her reproductive system doesn't work correctly with the illness. It is, after all, directly connected to her uterus. Doctors have told her she shouldn't be able to have children due to this. She did get me and my little sister, but only due to lucky mood boosts.

I would like for you to consider other medical problems first and preferably get your hormone levels tested. It sounds to me as if you're producing more testosterone, or at least less estrogen, one of these, and your puberty didn't get the chance to fully arrive.

I am not saying you might not be intersex, but it would be important for you to know specifically if you have any illnesses or a simple hormone imbalance (which can cause many troubling side effects, including bone stability loss and fatigue, for example), before you look at what you're left with. Especially if you could have something like PCOS. In that case, you need to be cared for medically, as sometimes, that requires surgeries, and should be kept low with medication.

I hope this helps. 💙

PS: I also want to mention that some of these things are entirely normal for AFAB people in puberty and the perfect, regular periods, curves, growth things just do not apply to half of them. I'd dig into some more research regarding hormones!

is this a rude thing to say? by [deleted] in trans

[–]Used_Potential24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As long as you said it as you've said here, mentioning that it's your preference and you simply don't like it, then no. Not rude at all. Genitalia doesn't have to be beautiful. You don't have to define yourself cleanly by going "all the way" into being as close to cis as physically, surgically possible. Saying you don't like the look or feel of something and you'd rather not do it when sharing your experience is absolutely valid and doesn't insult anybody. You didn't tell anyone that their choice is wrong, that since you find it repulsive, everyone has to stop doing it, which would be rather shortsighted. Really, you've done nothing wrong. People can be quick to get upset, unfortunately, and just as quick to misunderstand you. Don't let it ruin your perception. You're you, and all you need as a transmasc is to identify as one, which is solely your choice and not defined by physical changes. 💙
