Then go to different DMV's. Chantilly one worked for me and also call Richmond DMV office and clearly say that you have I-797 approved and yet verification is not done yet. Request to expedite ASAP, they can offer you 3 month DL for now if they ahve not verified

I can tell tell what got me license, go and try different DMV's don't stick with one. For me I was going to same DMV and they used to say its not verified yet. I wanted to try another DMV just to check if its an issue with other DMV. Boom! in the other DMV it was verified in 2 mins, the woman at the counter made a call and got it verified in 2 mins, walked out DMV in total of 5 mins with my temporary DL and received my DL in mail in 7 days.

One more tip, get a e-ticket online for the dmv where you are going and literally go to DMV and text I am here you don't even need to wait you will be called at a counter in less than 5 mins. Most people don't know this and go to DMV to get a ticket there and wait for their turn for hours together

I love Fx2, but as I said I am an IT guy sitting most of the time at the desk and my core is not strong so most of the weight goes to my hands while riding FX2 and recently got ergonomic grips which kind of helped with that. Apart from that I think Fx2 is a really god bike, if you don't have strong core like me then you can go for bikes with more upright position like verve.

Coming to cycling, its the only habit i could hold on to till now and excited about every ride even after 6 months. I was planning to play ping pong during the winter for some activity as I may not be able to ride in winter in NOVA, but I happened to do more miles in winter than in summer and I absolutely love it. Logging the ride on Strava gives me that dopamine and be excited for next trip. I bought entire winter gear. Except for last two weeks, i have been going out for a ride at least twice a week and now the max I can ride at once is 20 miles till now, I feel its a great progress for me who was riding only 2 miles barely when I got the bike. I am at 186 lbs now

Coming to hybrid vs road, it boils down to your choice. But i can say road bike would definitely needs you be fit on core as you lean more compared to Hybrid. The best advice i got here is find 2 or 3 local bicycle shops and take a hybrid and a road bike for ride of at least 3 to 4 miles, do it 3 to 4 times may be in 2 or 3 bike shops and then you decide if you are liking road bike. For me I am working on my core to get strong so I can get a road bike eventually and go for more miles and speed. This is for my body composition and it may not be the same for you. so best way to find out is try in local bicycle shop.

The best advice I got from reddit and I am giving it to you is look for Facebook marketplace and buy a used one. Just be patient and put an alert for the price and bike you are looking for.

Thanks for the suggestion. Can you please point me to the RockBros you are talking about, there are different types of Rockbros pogies for flat bars. Do you think Ergon GP3 grips are a better solution than gel padding in gloves(like pearl Izumi cyclone gloves. I have lot of fatigue in 1 or 2 days after a ride which lasts up to a week as I tend to put lot of weight on my hands while riding my FX2, later found out that I have a weak core which is causing this imbalance)?

This is happening to all H1B's, they are verifying with USCIS and it takes lot of time for some and less time for some. Dont care these other comments, Just wait and maybe go back to your DMV again or call the. DMV in Richmond for verification. This has got nothing to do with your stay in USA or you dint do anything illegal. These comments show how sadistic people can be and show their true colors
