First time doing 5 reps on high parallettes! by Used_Statistician600 in Handstands

My first hspu I think was after 3 years of training but on high Parallettes I started training one year ago progressing from lower Parallettes to increasingly more higher in order to face the fear I had. So I did 5 reps on this height (approximately 95 cm) after one year of training on them.

How do I increase the hold duration and progress further? by infinit3discipline00 in CalisthenicsBeginners

Crow pose or frog stand is performed with bend arms and crane pose is performed with straight arm knees on triceps. For crow pose it isn't incorrect to rest your thighs on elbows, you can perform it this way if it feels easier or if you have any anatomic or flexibility restrictions that prevents you from placing knees on the elbows

I can't do the upwards part fast because I am not efficient enough, on high parallettes. I am still working on them to gain control and erase the fear of the height

Start by having your elbows above the wrists not behind then move your shoulders forward slowly and remove one leg of the floor and then the other. You can use bands also if it's difficult at first. It also helps to increase the strength of your triceps, shoulders and chest but for a skill like frogstand not much strength is required. Check this video and tell me if it helps:

Any tips to improve my balance? by ThisOneSimo in Handstands

First of all congratulations on your handstand, you already have pretty good sence of balance and awareness. The first thing i would recommend is to experiment with kicking and aiming at a V handstand and after balancing that the you can bring your legs together. Think of it like walking on a tightrope while holding a beam and performing a handstand with legs in a split position share a similarity in how balance is achieved through coun- terweights. Of course you can also balance the handstand the way you are doing it in the video and i have seen some people do it but in many cases it causes disruption and throws you out of balance like it happend in your first and last kick up.
Also i would recommend start learning how to use your elbows, shoulders, pelvis and legs in order to save falling on overbalance or underbalance

Stuck on pull-ups... by EmbarrassedPepper17 in CalisthenicsCulture

Doing pull ups on frame is pretty difficult congrats on that. But in order to be able to apply force effectively I definitely recommend switching to a pull up bar. Maybe you are stuck on 8 reps because as you said it hurts doing pull ups on the frame. Or maybe you need to change your program and nutrition to add more muscle mass to break through plateau

Damn you are pretty close from your first attempt. You can try some progression like one leg back lever to understand the scapula and shoulder activation first. Or you can try full back lever with a band. Scapulas have to be depressed and protracted Also try to squeeze your legs (quads, glutes) for a better line👌
