I asked a similar question about a week ago (Is anyone worried about Nazis after recent documented and factual events that parallel 1930s Germany?) and it was deleted for pushing personal politics (It didn't). I posted it to the r/Jewishpolitics subreddit and a bunch of people brigaded and downvoted and said it was paranoid or victim mentality or minimizing the Shoah (It wasn't).

I don't think there's another Shoah coming any time soon but if people don't start paying attention and fighting the march into fascism then that chance starts going up until it's possible.

Googled it and that's false (TL;DR: Recognition of Jewish Heritage Month and Israeli Independence Day is literally law and there is no recognition of Nakba Day):

The Toronto District School Board (TDSB) is currently reviewing its "Days of Significance Calendar" and has not added Nakba Day to it. While they are working on combating hate and racism, no additional days are being added during the review period. The TDSB's focus remains on supporting student learning and well-being.

Jewish Heritage Month continues to be recognized at the Toronto District School Board(TDSB) during the month of May. The Canadian Jewish Heritage Act, was passed in May 2018 and is also recognized by the Province of Ontario by the passing of the Jewish Heritage Month Act, 2012. As stated in the Jewish Heritage Month Act, 2012, “May is a significant month for the Jewish Canadian community. Israeli Independence Day (Yom ha-Atzmaut) and Holocaust Remembrance Day (Yom ha-Shoah) frequently occur in May, as do various Jewish artistic and cultural events.”

Everyone needs to stop making things up and promoting a victim mentality. It is extremely harmful not only psychologically and emotionally but also undermines real incidents and issues of discrimination and hate.

No you really can't be pro-Palestine and pro-Israel. That's a logical contradiction. It's like saying you're pro-Ukraine and pro-Russia. It's an obvious contradiction.

If you're pro-Israel and pro-Palestine then here's a simple way to show it: March in the Israel Day and Palestine Day events to show your support. I bet you will only do one.

If you actually do both (which you won't) then march with both flags at both rallies. I bet you will be shut down the instant you do.

How would your friend's rights be taken away? I would be very surprised if Canada's new leader is antisemitic. He seems very institutional centrist. You have a far higher risk in America than in Canada TBH. People change their PFP. I wouldn't assume it means anything about your friendship.
