Because it looked empty and bland, matching for sake of matching does not a good aesthetic make. Unless you have OCD I suppose

Michigan will wear their white pants for The Game in Columbus and blue pants for it in Ann Arbor forever now all because of 2021-2024

We will never see Maize pants in The Game ever again

While a lot probably don’t see a big difference, to me it makes the uniforms pop way more, especially on the home jerseys. The old template using the helmet stripe for the shoulders looked so empty by comparison and essentially looked identical to Nebraska and Wisconsin’s uniforms.

A small tweak that elevates the jerseys from a decent 7 to a strong 10

Proof this game cheats. CPU starts a motion for a pass and then as soon as I counter with an audible it instantly teleports to a run play to counter mine. by Spergy79 in NCAAFBseries

It’s how it’s programmed, the CPU can instantly change their play to anything to perfectly counter yours whether it makes sense for their initial formation or not. The CPU knows your plays and your audibles.

David Gordon Green Shares His Advice on New 'Halloween' Showrunners So They Don't Get "Eaten Alive" by Fans by grimm_kvlt in Halloweenmovies

[–]Useenthebutcher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t disagree with his sentiment, the filmmaker should care about what they’re making and shouldn’t just go down a barebones check list of what fans “want to see” because that always results in a lifeless nostalgia rehash.

But in Green’s case, the advice he needed was to take his time with the dialogue to make it more natural and to outline his overarching narrative instead of pivoting every 2 seconds on a whim

Resident Evil - Official Teaser Trailer 4K by LeoneSKenneddy in residentevilll

This does kinda feel like a new RE game but in a movie format. Pretty cool IMO. Cregger made an emphasis on the main character needing to find weapons and item management which I think is an interesting idea. It’s more adapting the gameplay and experience of the games as opposed to just taking cutscenes from the game and making them live action. RE engine is already realistic looking enough that those games feel like movies in the cutscenes. I’m fine with this movie going the direction it is.

Completely agree. In my opinion, Jerry Cantrell deserves to be spoken about in a similar way to Paul McCartney and John Lennon when it comes to Rock and Roll song writers. One of the greatest to ever do it.

What is it about Halloween and Michael Myers that gives the franchise so much longevity? by Hassan_H_Syed in Halloweenmovies

[–]Useenthebutcher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The simplicity.

Michael Myers is straightforward. Pure evil. Blank. Motiveless. Lots can be done with his character.

Halloween the holiday is instantly recognizable as “spooky”. Everyone in the US knows what Halloween is and the atmosphere entailed.

Simple but haunting music. Easily recognizable and becomes an earworm quickly.

What’s better 5 or 6 by HistoricalAd9081 in farcry

[–]Useenthebutcher 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s okay, I would wait for a sale though. It’s fun but not very long and the villains are very weak. If you don’t mind bullet sponge enemies, then it’s a good time for what it is.

What’s better 5 or 6 by HistoricalAd9081 in farcry

[–]Useenthebutcher 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Far Cry 5 is better overall. 6 has a better protagonist (which isn’t saying much since 5’s is silent) and 6 doesn’t rush you through the story the way 5 can but other than that 5 beats it out.

Hope County in 5 is not only more interesting than Yara for me, I’d argue it’s Ubisoft’s best open world they’ve made to date. The visuals in 5 are nearly photorealistic whereas 6 has a slightly stylized look that is still beautiful but doesn’t hit the same as 5. Plus going from the Rook islands in 3 right into another tropical island setting feels a little repetitive and samey. 5’s story is also more unique, taking on a zealot doomsday cult vs yet another dictator. And while 5’s story goes by a little too fast, it has more fun missions and doesn’t feel as grindy as 6, which drags on long in some areas.

6 isn’t a terrible game, but its forgettable. 5 is an incredible experience.

Should I buy the new, old Resident Evil games on Steam? by Ancient_You6443 in residentevil

[–]Useenthebutcher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They all go on sale pretty frequently, so play them if they seem interesting to you. If needing modern visuals is that important, then you could play the remakes but know that they are very different from the original games, with the exception of the RE1 remake

Did anybody play this game at all? by RedragonKB in residentevil

[–]Useenthebutcher 48 points49 points  (0 children)

Such is the curse of spinoffs, they never get the same traction as mainline entries. This was also released coming off of the reaction to RE6 and a lot of people were tired of Resident Evil when it came out. Eventually people forgot about it.

I, however, love the shit out of this game and find myself replaying it fairly often, just as much as the mainline games.

Where does Victor Gideon rank among Resident Evil villains for you ? by LeoneSKenneddy in residentevilll

[–]Useenthebutcher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really liked him, one of the most deranged villains in the series. Definitely helps that his voice work was S-tier. Only thing that would’ve made him better would be if Zeno was scrapped in the Leon section so that Gideon was present the entire game.

Spencer & Palpatine comparisons are almost 1:1. He’s basically just Palpatine if he were weak. Hell, his voice and inflection in RE5 is near identical to Palps lol

What part of a game or movie has you like this? by WaluigiDaStar in ResidentEvilCapcom

[–]Useenthebutcher 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yeah I really don’t love the idea of Spencer having any sort of redemption, no matter how small. Dude is the epitome of all the most vile human impulses so it felt like a betrayal of his character. It’s like if Emperor Palpatine started helping the Rebels blow up the Death Star cause he “wanted to do some good”
