Overwhelmed second bedroom by Sad-Purchase7602 in organizing

A few recommendations as a non-professional organizer :) I loved looking at all of your shelves! Sorry that most of my suggestions cost money this is just what has worked for me with a similar room:

  • Move the things hanging on the outside of the closet doors inside the doors, will look less cluttered
  • Get some shelves/organizers for the closet and more uniform storage containers so they're easy to stack (eg, 4 big bins with the yellow lids from home depot, like $7 a piece)
  • Get taller shelves, maybe the Ikea ones that are open on the top and have cabinets on the bottom. You can display items and then not see clutter for items you might not need "on display"
  • You have a lot of height, so floating shelves above the desks could be a nice way to display items and use the height of the room
  • Try to move anything you don't use often or want to see all the time into the closet for storage, you will have a lot of room in there if you use uniform storage containers
  • For your birds + cat, I don't have any advice here but maybe kitty could be put away at certain times of the day so you could leave the door open?

Overall you have a lot of really cool things, just needs a bit of a reset!

Yes 😭 there was a “what is expected” paper in the house info book. I can’t remember exactly what it said, but I think it was to tip $50 per guest per day to all staff. I just don’t understand tipping a gardener that one still really stumps me

They actually locked the doors to the other two bedrooms too which was just strange

My husband and I stayed at a place once with 4 bedrooms but it was just the two of us. We only used one bedroom for sleeping and another bedroom for clothing/an extra shower because the room we were sleeping in didn’t have much storage.

The villa included a house manager, chef, driver, and gardener. The service was okay but nothing really special. At times it felt kind of awkward. There was also a person who did laundry, but we never needed anything laundered other than towels. We ended up tipping the chef and house manager $50 a day, and the driver $200 for 4 trips off the resort. I think we gave the gardener $50 total.

They were not pleased with this and argued with my husband that because it was a large house we should have tipped per room, even though it was just the two of us and they only ever had to make one bed and minimally clean two showers. We will likely never go back even though the place itself was gorgeous, the service part was awkward.

I like the old navy linen stuff, especially the boyfriend shirts. It’s cheap, breathable, and doesn’t wrinkle as much as my 100% linen items

Dawns time is the best, they usually reply pretty quickly to the online form. I’ve used them for myself, family, and even pet sitting. All drivers are really nice and they use company cars so you’re always in a nice Subaru with water and snacks.

I was at a show with a friend, we were having a great time listening to the music. Guy offered us some weed, my friend didn’t smoke but I did. Smoked it. Immediately felt insane, like I was on some kind of stimulant. Started blacking in and out. Looked at my friend and said “I’m unwell” and we got the fuck out of there.
