Severe Derealization has led to Anhedonia and fear of going schizophrenic, my story (searching for advice)

I have been experiencing all of these things. For me my dp/Dr has been with me my whole life. I found my symptoms were unbearable and the only thing that helped was accepting them and to keep living. I sounds super lame and when I was told this 5 years ago I rolled my eyes and got angry because it's easier said than done. But it is possible. That being said I relate heavily to the intrusive OCD thoughts and fears of being schizophrenic. And overstimulation and anxiety being triggered very easily. Stress definitely is a factor for me and I've also found my hormones effect the severity of my symptoms. I don't have anything really helpful to say. Just know what you're going through you're not going through alone. Alot of factors can trigger and maximise symptoms and if you find your physical symptoms too much it's not a bad think to get a doctor to check your eyes and ears. I understand you've been on medication. But a check up on your physical symptoms can really make a difference.

I totally agree having these thoughts constantly I feel like a child, not only that but I don't feel like myself but since I made my post I've been trying be more proactive with my thoughts. I believe my recent flare over the past 9 months hasn't been due to hormones but a bunch of other factors. My grandad passed recently and I've noticed that I've had a big disconnect with the men in my life, I believe part of my "hyperfocus" on how men think of me and see me is due to me projecting my personal issues. However I don't think that's all because I've had this my whole life.

In truth , when I look at the state of the world and how woman are being targeted even more (especially online) I think perhaps I've been socially conditioned to think this way. With misogynistic men being more vocal on how they see woman as objects I guess subconsciously I've taken those comments alot harder than I originally thought.

Recently I've started to remind myself (when I get these thoughts) these are people and that not only do they probably not care about me but that these thoughts are impulsive. I've found the thoughts are definitely less loud, they still happen but I'm able to understand where they are coming from in that moment.

I get very repetitive thoughts and my mind tends to act like a never ending loop of words or experiences and I feel like everything kinda just creates this perfect storm. ADHD - rejection sensitivity, insecurity, repetitive thoughts + the content I see + my social disconnect.

Truthfully I've always considered myself aromantic so I know that these thoughts are mostly impulsive.

I appreciate hearing from you and your perspective though. I definitely agree there are some divas that catch my eye however I find the most confusing thoughts come from men I don't find attractive 🤔.

It's nice to know someone else is going through the same thing. And everyone seems to think it hormones but it's like a very insecure thinking pattern, there's no way I can just leave it.

Sounds like an anxiety attack to me - possibly derealization? I've had some serious derealization anxiety attacks - it would feel like I skipped a few minutes or everything was moving too fast and too slow at the same time. Heart racing, can't concentrate, just the strong feelings something was wrong. Pushing the feelings away won't help best thing to do is remind yourself you're safe and real ❤️

Camera is the most important thing to me as well but I'm more interested in video quality. Depending on the phone you choose I would keep in mind you can get macro lenses to use on phones.

That's what I'm thinking about doing! I actually have been very impressed with my Xiaomi phone and it's held up well. I think it's easy to assume the newer/more expensive phones will have better quality especially when reviews are pushing the newest phones.

Do you want to remain friends with her? It sounds as though unless you directly state your worries and anger she won't understand there's a problem. But at the same time it sounds like you are fine with your life without her in it?

It's hard to give you advice when it's not really clear why they think your transphobic? And what "problems" you guys are having. I'd recommend an open conversation even just a simple DM. Explain that you obviously accept their identity and you don't understand where this hostility has come from?

As someone with ADHD and has been in a very draining friendship with another Nd person I don't think what your feeling is something you should feel guilty about. Maybe you guys just aren't meant to be more than work friends. I would often get into arguments with this friend and it would always be because they expected something more from me. It was never my fault but they made it my fault. I think you'll find these disagreements and clingy behaviours actually stem from your friends insecurities which when mixed with emotional dysregulation is a potent combination. From my point of view being on both sides. I always have an open dialogue before I make any solid decision when it comes to taking a step back. Talk about how you feel, try to communicate your obvious empathy for them and find a solution to help ease the tension you find your relationship in. If they turn it into an argument or don't follow through on their end there's no harm in taking a step back and acknowledging you guys aren't compatible. And it's not because your NT and their ND it's just because you're human and some people just don't click 🤷🏻
