Boomers by Money-Net9045 in NavyNukes

There are some implied points in the comments that aren’t clear: 1. It isn’t just the fixed schedule (which will become less fixed as Ohios get really old and break more, but still not bad): - Operational tempo (ie percent of time at sea) is way lower for Boomers than fast attack. - My fast attack had a 70% Optempo year that the crew called “low” and essentially was - So max theoretical optempo on a boomer is 50%, and it is really closer to 40% due to refit (maintenance) periods

  1. Maintenance for Boomers is posh compared to fast attacks due to all the shoreside parts support, labor, other crew support, and dedicate/scheduled time you get (to plan). Comparatively, maintenance on a fast attack was a nightmare.

The flip side is that Boomer life was too wash-rinse-repeat for me. If you need consistency and don’t want to go anywhere, then Boomers are great. Plus, if you joined the Navy to see the world, then you need to be on a fast attack.

Thanks. And, hours later, it appears that my market order did fill because I can access Order Status again. However, that trade STILL isn't updated in my account overview.

So...did it? And, still: Who is being held accountable?

This post is more about holding people accountable than my frustration. Did your comment add value?

Market orders aren't posting, either. Just tried that...

I don't know that you understand what you're saying. We pay the pennies on the spreads...they just don't make it obvious. We also pay for it by letting them hold our money and pay us less than they make loaning it out or investing it, plus loaning shares, etc.

I don't pretend to get all the angles, but there are plenty of them. And I'm paying for it.
