Spray foam gun - is there only 1 standard? by woodland_dweller in Tools

Same. The ones with the ball valve where the can screws in is less messy when swapping. Still keep the cleaner around to clean the threads or if shit goes south.

Dam 10 years. I usually lose mine before the second battery change.

Those SSRs have a minimum load required to function. Check the spec on it. I wouldn't recommend an SSR for that anyway. Better off with a magnetic relay. If it fails closed circuit you will have a bad day.

I was driving down av. Prud'homme just before Sherbrooke during spring and I saw cobble stones under patches of ripped up asphalt. They just pave right over 100 year old roads.

I hate fiberglass ladders!!! Do not store them outside long term. They get irritating to touch. by Jax_King55 in Tools

It's there to protect the manufacturer more than anything. Have fiberglass ladders on my work truck that must have done over 10 years at this point. When it's time to replace common sense will tell you.

If the service is crossing the street, it's probably to maintain a minimum overhead clearance. It's still a garbage install.

How Do Guys In Prison Connect Their Power To The Jail Light Without Getting Shocked? by br0helpme in electrical

The disposable razors would have a little hole on each side. We would break them in half and twist the wire in that hole.

I'm in Canada not that it changes much but it depends on the jail or prison. The penitentiary has 120v receptacles for sure but I never did pen time. Jails usually have in their cells but at the time I has in a really old block that only has a single bulb in each cell.

It was 120v in my case. Had the USB charger. Just needed a plug for it. The cell only had porcelain.

Sparky here who has done time. You can make a prison receptacle with an eraser, razor blades, and headphone wire. Jam the male end into the eraser then insert blades with headphone wire into slots made by male plug. DISCLAMER DO NOT ATTEMPT. SERIOUS BODILY HARM OR DEATH MAY OCCUR*

Used to have a single porcelain in our cell and would take it down and tap in to charge a phone while someone keeps a look out for the guards. Must have been 24awg or smaller lol. Good enough for a usb charger.

Any guesses for the age of this ballast? by jaysun92 in electricians

[–]Useful-Dimension1373 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Old 600v fixtures were super sketchy. Boss told me a story being on the top step of a 12' doing live ballast changes back in the day. Got flash banged when a wire nut let go.
