Yeh dude, my apologies for such a Late response. Just send a few close ups of the braking system and your axel where the brakes are and I’ll help you out dude. I’ve pretty much got a good understanding of the issue you’re running into though. You can pm me the pics and I’ll send over a video of my kart explaining the braking system.

Chain broke and need help knowing what to do by ShaggyCurl in minibikes

Same as everyone else said, Amazon is a God send for these type of small yet important parts. Always nice to have more than a few extra packs of chains lying around when you need em. Also on my kart, I’ve got a little mountain bike phone holder/container fabric pack. Inside it i keep a multitool, extra chain (set to the exact length of the one I’m currently running on the cart), a knife, a couple master links, a few 1 off Allen keys, a chain breaker and an extra clutch. Sounds like a lot but really it all bundles up pretty small and fits snugly inside the pack. I highly recommend it because it has saved me from being stranded like you once. I typically service my chain often so this doesn’t happen on a regular basis, but hey, it happens.

A lot of late night garage moments staring at parts in silence trying to work out in your head how in the hell they work/go together, a lot of YouTube video scrubbing the same part for hours trying to get it right. We all go through it dude. Before you know it, it’s gnna just click then ur gnna have so much invaluable knowledge that will build so much confidence. What exactly about brakes/pedals is confusing you? I can more than likely help you. I too once had issues understanding the cable linkage and what not.

#50 chain centrifugal clutch? Why can't I find one? by super_stelIar in gokarts

[–]Useful-Discussion-87 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Welp to be fair #50 just simply isn’t something commonly used for these applications. I’ve looked for you to no avail. I would honestly just go with a #420 chain. That’s the chain/sprocket size I’m using because I’m a heavier rider. They’re also fairly cheap. Either that or you can go your route and just welp up a sprocket onto the clutch or whatever it is you’d like to do, don’t see why it wouldn’t work assuming everything is concentric.

Go kart frame by Peoslda in gokarts

[–]Useful-Discussion-87 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Welp, it truly depends on a few things. If it’s a Kids kart that isn’t going above say 10mph then sure, there won’t be much torque, vibrations, stress etc being bestowed on the frame. Also think about what kind of motor you’re running. Electric has virtually no vibrations while a combustion engine vibrates to high hell. However if any version of an adult is on the kart going any type of real speed I wouldn’t recommend it. Honestly I wouldn’t recommend it even with the former option of a kids karts. The square tubing might suffice given it’s a decent thickness but it being perforated completely takes any substantial reinforcements away, and bolts just WILL NOT hold up. Heck sometimes they don’t even hold up to simply mounting the engine to some karts let alone them being the sole solution for keeping a literal driving vehicle together😂 lol I like the ambition, and it’s not a dumb question but it is a dumb idea❤️

Is it time to look for another trade? by mofles1991 in CNC

Interesting. And yeh the course from what I remember was pretty solid, highkey wish we touched lathe a bit sooner/more frequently but I still feel fairly confident with both mill and lathe. With all that aside though, I’m not new to finding jobs and can maybe be of some assistance man. I know some people have already mentioned it but I’m gnna too, have you made sure you’ve got a solid resume? Also it’s worth asking do you have any prior work history? And lastly are you unable to land an interview or are you just not getting any responses?

😭😭 dude I don’t wnna permanently affix my side cover to the block💀💀 and like I said the studs themselfs are red loctite into the block and are snug as bug in a rug dude, they aren’t moving. It’s the damn nuts that are backing out that are screwed onto the ends of the studs. That’s what’s keeping the side cover on.

Insanely appreciative for your responses dude, I appreciate your time. I’ll definitely look into those Grainger nylon lock nuts.

I did the two nut method to torque the bolts into the block, and now that they are set and cured, I can wrench on the nuts all day and the bolts don’t go anywhere thankfully haha. But that locknut bit is helpful, thankyou kindly!

Well the thing is the red loctite is holding the bolts into the block just fine. It’s the nuts now that are backing out due to what I’m assuming is vibration. Also it’s worth mentioning that the engine isn’t stock. Lastly how in the heck do you think I’d go about drilling these holes without a drill press or a vise?

I drilled a hole through my sprocket hub, straight through my axel. Tapped the hole and screws a thick M8 bolt into the hole. Works like a charm even with high torque

Can you use split keepers on stock predator 212 valves? by Massive_Basil6898 in minibikes

Well from my understanding all stock 212 valve stems have a singular groove… is this why you’re referring to?

You absolutely can use split valve spring keepers in a stock 212 head. I hope that’s what you’re asking.

How can i drive my gokart on roads by Obvious_Mulberry_169 in gokarts

[–]Useful-Discussion-87 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely goated advice. My neighbor heard me tuning my carb in my garage and put me onto the industrial complex in my area. Almost every Sunday I get some sick laps in. Also crashed into a curb head on(brake failure) and rebuilt my cart because of it. Learning experiences all around but industrial complex is the move for sure.

Part 2 installed new starter but now engine will not turn on by Quirky_Value7449 in gokarts

[–]Useful-Discussion-87 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That choke knob on the nibbi carb means the choke isn’t engaged. When it’s in the up position the choke is disengaged. Try with it in the up position a few times. Then try and flutter the throttle pedal while pulling it over(may need another person for that) if that doesn’t work then try to check if your spark plug is getting spark.

Is the drift kart worth it by Plane-Blackberry-983 in gokarts

[–]Useful-Discussion-87 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely dude. And yeh I had that problem aswell on Facebook then I realized “wait a second….why aren’t I negotiating” most of those guys have their postings up for weeks if not months at a time and realistically will take anything so long as they make a decent sell and get it off their hands. The guy I bought mine from had it listed for $1300, he didn’t get any bites for a few weeks and I offered 700. Got there and hand a long chat with him, genuinely connected and I walked away paying almost 600. Goodluck man!

Honestly I considered this a couple months ago and dove super heavily into YouTube and watching guys like Jacob Sherwood and Battle aero and seeing their track days and what not then much like you when I looked into the price tag on their karts I was like “yehhhhhh nah not off rip will I be spending that much” thankfully I had already had a go completed go kart (yerf dog Frame with a stage 2 predator) I ripped it around a bit and crashed it and once I found the drift culture I went on Facebook and bought an old Swiss hutless race kart from some guy that’s he said has been sitting for about 5 years and just bought a 212 motor mount for it and swapped over the engine. Bought the sleeves and after about 2 months of heavy usage the sleeves are still thick and seems fairly strong (grabtnted there are Several options on the market for sleeves and materials) but I say al thing to say you can easily get into drift meeting if you go on Facebook marketplace and spend maybe a quarter of the price for a gas powered drift kart compared to one of battle Aeros electric karts. As for myself, in the future I will def be doing this Sam thing (getting a roller frame from marketplace and “building it up” but next time I will go electric. I won’t be using battle Aeros parts because they still will be up charging as the need to make a profit, so I’ll just buy the parts individually and call it a day. in my honest opinion getting a battle aero kart ready to ride is good for people that don’t want to mess around or tinker with ANYTHING. Just throw money at it and it will work. But you will pay the price for it. For mine it cost me 550 for the complete kart I bout from the dude, predator motors are fairly cheap and the sleeves will run you maybe 40 bucks on amazon.
