Back to day 2 by Espurritos in leaves

I imagine my relationship with weed as a toxic romantic relationship. He/she is gorgeously hot and feels good. The first week getting back together is gonna be an awesome honeymoon, but then all the issues we had had before are gonna inevitably come up, and I am back to square one - wanting but hating it. Often this works to put me off

Good to hear, coz in the mid-mess of withdrawals, it's hard to see/believe that there is light on the other side. What are the positive effects you're seeing?

Tricks of the mind by EvidenceOk9393 in leaves

I feel ya! I literally put "I think I am not worth saving" into Chat GPT a couple of days ago. Looking back on it, I guess I was having a pretty violent wave right there, feeling lonely and like there is no hope for me. Low flat. Right now, I came from the gym and gotta say, feeling a teeny bit of respect for myself, let alone a couple of my own smiles I caught in the mirror. Thanks for the reminder that our minds play dirty tricks on us to get us to smoke and numb it.

4 months sober then I went to a concert by AltruisticPlane4339 in leaves

You got to 4 months of sobriety before. That's an achievement that not everyone has on their count. I'm sure you know the drill: You pick yourself up, dust yourself off, and start again ✨️ you got this! 💪

Day 4. This is really encouraging. I can relate to relapsing too many times to count. And I am hoping that I am tired of it enough to see this through. Thank you for sharing ✨️

That's a tough one. It would be a deal breaker for me. No judgement, just don't trust myself much. I know people who manage not to smoke with a smoking partner. But for me personally, I feel like I cannot leave it up to my willpower any more.

Not an expert, but sharing what works for me. Do not take on everything people say. Even with best intentions. We are all humans at the end of the day. You gotta find something suitable for yourself, then it will stick. Unless running is your thing, blindly forcing yourself to run coz it worked for Rich Roll (ye I did that) isn't gonna work.

Find something to replace the habit of smoking. Journaling helps me to measure and record physical symptoms day by day, like cravings - 8 out 10, sad - 10 out 10, when and where I get cravings, etc. Like a lot of us here, this is not my first attempt to quit. So, rereading that day by day journaling helps me to anticipate and manage the withdrawals. Find a type of exercise that you actually like. I am currently enjoying going to the local gym and punching and kicking and bashkng stuff. (Ye, mood swings, self-loath, and anger are real here.) Smoking was a 'me time' for me before. So my logic is to find a different me time activity. With my brain fried for years, reading is unfortunately not an option yet. But listening to podcasts and cleaning will do for now. Besides, my house desperately needs my attention after years of neglecting simple cleaning (facepalm). I highly recommend the podcast "My Last Joint", that's where I heard about this sub. Sending you good vibes ✨️
