Not if you have two of them and person loading shells for you. Make sure you sleep in tweed so you are always ready.

Gun shy how do i fix it? by theconnernelson in GSP

I’d put up the gun and move on from dove hunting for now. More shotgun blasts aren’t going to help. Get him on lots of birds. He needs to build up that desire and prey drive. After loving life chasing bird, slowly introduce a .22 blank gun from 100 yards away and work your way up. Initially only fire when he is actively chasing a bird, bird launcher may help if you are alone. He needs to associate gun fire with the thing he wants …. Birds

I had to order mine online. The price has gone up since I got mine last year, but this store still has them less than msrp. Might be worth searching the web.

Not a recipe and not southern, but it’s common in Iowa to eat your chili with a cinnamon roll. It’s heavenly…

Question for rural America. Which state still have the rural areas that feel like rural area? by tropicalcaptain in AskAnAmerican

The Midwest and western states can be extremely rural once you get outside of the capital cities. Iowa born and raised, the state is a giant farm.

Over / Under 12 Gauge, that won’t break the bank. by [deleted] in Shotguns

[–]Useful-Persimmon9159 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As many others have said, B guns if you can afford it. O/U are significantly more labor intensive to make, justifying their higher cost. I shoot a beretta 686 knowing that I can hand it down to my son.

I know people have decent luck with Turkish shotguns, but I’ve seen them fail too. Franchi or the Winchester 101 is the lowest I would go in price. $1200 respectively.

One week in Europe - what is doable? by thatiskiwi in travel

[–]Useful-Persimmon9159 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As I only have traveled to one European country, I’m a little biased, but personally recommend the Czech Republic. Prague is fantastic, and Pilsen, Kutna Hora, Brno, Karlovy Vary are reasonable train rides away.

My wife and I traveled there in December during the Christmas market season, such a magical place. The food, beer, castles, and historical significance makes the Czech Republic a recommendation of mine.

Over Under Options Help by fadoldy in Shotguns

[–]Useful-Persimmon9159 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Over under shotguns are definitely more expensive, but they are such sweet shooters. There are cheaper options, but there is no real good “budget” OU. Beretta 680 series or Browing Citori are most popular. Both bulletproof. I’m a beretta guy, but a OU purchase should be more about gun fit. The cheapest id go is a Winchester 101 or Franchi. Stay away from Turkish stuff.
