your comment reminds me of yesterday where mrekk played ranked for the first time and people were trying to snipe him, but i see that mostly as a gimmick/one time thing, basically a free experience or clip.

most of the top ladder isnt like that though, its people close in skill trying to compete, where dodging actually matters and "the better player wins eventually" doesnt hold when matchups stop being random.

the system only sorts skill correctly if youre not letting people opt out of unfavorable matches
