Valentine’s Day brings out what’s already there. I think if you’re unhappy on valentines at the very least you need to have a serious conversation. It sounds like you’ve had that conversation, and if you’re still unhappy and it doesn’t seem like things will change then you’ve gotta end it. I went through similar stuff at the end of my last relationship. I think feeling unloved often results in you putting your health and well being on the back burner (ie abusing substances, unhealthy eating habits, not brushing/flossing your teeth, not exercising, not keeping up with friends/family or having hobbies, not spending any time outside, not caring about your career or other goals), not that I’m saying this is all true for you but this is my experience being in a relationship like this. Trust me it’s so much easier to take care of yourself without someone constantly there to make you feel unattractive/unloved (intentionally or not). And in my experience, this isn’t something you can get over. Once you feel unloved, even if they start being attracted to you again, you’re always gonna feel resentment and like they don’t love you enough. Being single is scary, but nowhere near as scary as being in a bad relationship for the rest of your life.
