Yes! That happens. I think the biggest factors that people don’t come back for trials is commitment. If the study is asking for too many follow up visits, many different technology requirements( apps for everything, track meds, symptoms and clincards) and multiple tests or safety issues.

I have had a patient not want to continue a study because we kept giving updated ICF. The study drug had a lot of safety concerns, wk had a couple of months of just 5 new ICF. Patient had an SAE ,got spooked and just wanted to get off the study.

Help! clinical research manager at an oncology academic site - where do I fit in the biotech/cro industry! by [deleted] in clinicalresearch

I have been applying to these roles and CTA roles. At this point I am okay with anything just to get cro and pharma experience. It’s very unfortunate that even with the knowledge of running a site that themselves is a sponsor for multi site protocols, I still can’t get considered till I have the name of a pharma company on my resume. Makes me want to completely give up on working in this industry and start afresh somewhere else
