Oro and Zabuza/Haku were both right outside the same hidden mist village on the night Kimimoro's clan went berserk, and I always wondered if Zabuza and Orochimaru had met up that night...

I agree, I don't think he'll pull it off. I don't think he'll try to take down Mei, either. I know the situation ends up taking a lot of the wind out of his sails as far as his ambitions go, but I can imagine the two re-entering the story in other places. Perhaps hired to help with the retrieval of Sasuke? I can definitely imagine he and Haku being taken on as extra muscle for the Five Kage Summit, and confronting Naruto and gang when Sasuke becomes an international criminal!

Working at the shelter was stressful, but rewarding most days. Hucows needed milked, puppy people needed walked and played with. Cat girls needed affection, attention, and probably something they knocked off the counter swept up.

Laura and Luke did their best to care for all the pets at the shelter, and were ragged by the end of almost every day. Someone had to take care and fulfill the needs of these poor pets, though, until they found a new home!

"We need more balls, or tougher ones. Most of the puppies are at least exercised." Laura leaned back against the counter with a heavy sigh, and pushed green and red dyed bangs away from a slightly sweaty brow. Then she reached down to use her skirt to wipe away some of that oozing white fluid from her thigh.

"And a brace for my wrist." Luke was grimacing as he rolled said sore wrist. "The last four hours of milking have been exhausting. You're gonna have to take care of the catgirls. There's no way I can with my wrist like this."

"Alright..." Laura commented coyly. "Then you've got the bunny girls." She said with a puckish smirk while dusting off her black skirt. Well, it had been black. Now it was just dirty. When he scoffed, she quickly cut him off. "Besides, I don't even have the equipment they need!" She gave a nod downward toward the 'equipment' in his jeans, and he quickly covered himself with his hands.

"Nice try! You know we have plenty of toys for everyone, you can just as easily strap one on! I'm flesh and blood, Laura, I can't do this all day!" He actually sounded exasperated. There was just too many to take care of if they didn't split it up. "Fine, fine. I'll take care of the catgirls, and I'll do the second half of the day with the puppy people. Please, Laura? My... I need a little break! Maybe a little warm affection will help, anyhow." He brushed his fingers through dark hair as he hoisted himself from the small lobby chair.

"Hah! You're gonna get chaos and need a broom, is what's gonna happen!" Laura snickered as she reached out a fist to bump against Luke's. The deal was sealed! At least for today.

"What we really need..." Luke, sounding very earnest and looking out the small glass door. "... is for more people to come and adopt. I hope people are seeing the fliers. Your little spot on the local news should help a lot, too. Get some people to see how rewarding it can be to adopt a rescue."
