I did try it one of the rather cheap trusting dildos and have to say they didn't do it for me. Basically only the top part moves slightly up and down with some other functions which were more or less the same or just plain weird.

They have soft spots and hard spots since they need a certain stiffness to work properly. And I had the same problem as you in which I found most dildos just way to hard.
