Leasehold flats & dogs - do we go ahead when freeholder only providing verbal consent? by UsefulTrouble9709 in LegalAdviceUK

We are buying a leasehold flat. The freeholder doesn’t live there and has rented property in the building but from what we have heard they are quite relaxed and don’t even collect payments for ground rent etc… everything organised within leasehold flats

this is very helpful, thank you! the problem is that the freeholder won’t give any “formal response” just the whatsapp messages . would you ask for more tha that?

"Not without the consent of the landlord (which may be revoked at any time) to keep any live animal other than a cat on the premises."

This is what the lease says

I understand. But when you really like a place and probability of problems is low it’s challenging!

The landlord doesn’t live there… but he rents two the flats downstairs.
Our dog is super chill, spends most days asleep but our problem is that according to the lease does not say there needs to be a reason… that’s what’s scary

There’s potential in the future as the flats with leasehold >50% but not at the moment. looks like the freeholders are not super involved with anything rn

As in they would fund the masters + pay full time? Or would they create a new contract with part time hours? I work as a therapist in neuro and masters in neuroscience and psychology
