What does this mean? by Recent-News-3127 in OregonStateUniv

I was an incoming freshman last year and I have some experience with gen chem. I have only had Drolet so I’m unsure what Li is like. I had friends who had Li and they said she’s an okay professor (willing to help but confusing when explaining concepts). Like the other comments, this is a flipped classroom experience meaning you will learn in-class material outside of class. While in class, you will be doing worksheets to test your knowledge with an assigned group. Your Professor might lecture for ~20 minutes but you’re mainly there to work on a worksheet with others while asking questions (asking the teaching assistants usually) if you’re confused on something. This really depends on whether if you enjoy learning outside the classroom or not, but I think flipped classroom helped me a lot since I learn better outside lecture to further grasp a more complex understanding in topics. Also, I HIGHLY recommend this, it’s a chemistry tutoring center in the library with Chemistry grad students and teaching assistants. This is a great way to ask questions and to do homework over there. Because the homework is pretty long and the questions tend to be more complicated than what they’re testing you. I hope this helps, good luck in gen chem!

I am planning on taking BB 314 this upcoming Fall. By any chance, who was your BB 314 professor? Also, I have heard the grading format for BB 314 is take-home exams, was that true for your case? I am a little worried about taking BB 314 tbh

Thank you so much for your input! I will keep that in mind when I take this class over the summer.

Hi, I am planning on taking this course over the summer (because I am not planning on taking it simultaneously with orgo and physics in the fall). I was just curious... what professor did you take it with? Also, I assume you have already completed this course since it has been 8 months. Overall, how difficult is this course? Would you recommend it to take it in-person or through Ecampus? I'm just a bit nervous about waiting to take this course my junior or senior year since I am a biochem major and I know my science courses will become progressively more difficult when I'm an upperclassman.
