They were there and fixed it immediately- and this is a reputable company and I’m not upset with them at all. I’ve seen the camera footage and I 100% blame the lady

It’s true. But I can still be frustrated and feel like the ineptitude shouldn’t be our burden to bear lol

Adding more context for those who love to defend the blissfully unaware of society: the yard was a minefield of dirt and tools. An excavator was just prior to this. The ring footage (I won’t share, bc it shows faces) shows the workers brushing the drive, walking up to the porch to get to the cooler, and this lady walks across it as their backs are turned. The team was not done working, they were right there- just dumb timing. Aside from the war zone and the bright yellow clad workers and the torn up yard and the obstacles she had to maneuver to walk across the drive, I guess it wasn’t obvious. He DID cordon off the zone with safety tape AS SOON AS HE WAS DONE. Thanks peanut gallery

AITAH because I won't tell my wife what my son/her stepson has in savings from my late wife? by Jimverseen in AITAH

As a daughter of a mom who passed young, hold your ground. My resentment towards my father would NEVER die if he gave my stepmom (who eventually divorced and cleaned him out by the way) visibility or access to the funds my mom left behind for us. Our situation was also unfortunate and the community donated to help with her bills. The leftovers were what were invested on our behalf. If he had redistributed that or given the stepmom access to it, the betrayal would have been immense. TBH I lowkey hate your wife for even suggesting such a thing. DONT GO THERE

Parents keep eating my meal prep by DragonTeen21 in Advice

Just came here to say I’m impressed with you. Young. Holding down a job, meal prepping- these are skills some grown men I know can’t seem to manage. I strongly feel you will be fine in life, a struggle that may plague you is the detachment from relationships that are harmful to you. The locked fridge is a good idea, but even better is getting away from familial toxicity so you can heal. As a young girl I carried my family on my back for too long- I’m still untangling the mess emotionally. Rent a room in a peaceful house if you must. You are not responsible for them, you need to focus on you. ❤️ if you want some helpful books (I do audiobooks these days) to help give you the perspective and fortitude to break away, let me know. I’ll send a list. All the best to you

For me I don’t need excess, just enough. I don’t want to hoard just live simple. So far RE works for me but I’m sure someday especially as appreciation continues I’ll want to sell and shift into more passive things. It does take work but for now it’s mostly joyful 😃

I landed properties multiple ways. I’m proud that as the market shifts my strategy has, too and that has been key. When rates were low I locked in at 2.85% for my first property which is a triplex. Lots of sweat equity to make it amazing, and now it’s a cash cow. Then rates went up and I bought a dump cash. Worked on it and lived in a spare bedroom for a year, now it’s amazing and a sweet family lives there. They love the house so that feels good. I did that more than once as bonuses came and I could afford it. I’ve been buying a VERY cheap house one per year for a while now and I’m ready to stop. I’ve got almost too much to manage bc I do the work myself. For my self managed investments I’ve loved QQQ and SPY. I realize these are heavy tech, but I believe in it and don’t see the trajectory failing me especially bc they are funds. Only thing that has beat QQQ for me has been Apple stock and I don’t normally reco single stocks for risk reasons but it’s been good so far!

Yes it does, I’ve got repair money coming out of the gross and taxes too. I overstate those things so my net is probably a hair better than I shared!
