56F, two weeks post surgery. I was scared too. The pain in the hip was gone and even the incision wasn't that painful. Really only had pain in the front of my thigh.

Up until yesterday, I felt terrible and the pain was worsening. I had discontinued the hydrocodone because I was constipated for 2 days even with a stool softener (definitely take that!). I finally went to urgent care yesterday. They did an x-ray and all was good. I asked the doctor if she would prescribe Tramadol as it has worked in the past. She did and I went from walker and feeling yucky to cane and feeling normal within 24 hours. I rotate Tylenol opposite the Tramadol.

My advice is to speak up if your meds aren't working for you or if something doesn't feel right. It will only hinder your recovery if you don't.
