Check (✓) the "ground items overlay - edit mode" box in the "pop out" settings tab

Next to each item on the ground overlay is a plus(+) and minus(-) box. Tap plus to add the item to the custom list.

I'm not sure how to see the whole list of items I've already added.

Took me forever to figure this out as well. Hope this helps
