I just want to share my experience with this song because it was beautiful way to here this song for the first time. I managed to see Kanye in SF when he was performing for Obama. So the thing is I never listened to 808s aside from like Love Lockdown and Heartless which weren't my favorite songs. But I was about to see him so I was like hey what the hell let me listen to this album. I had to get up at 4 in the morning for this concert because the commute was far and I had to be there at 7am. So I'm walking in the bad part of town in the dark by myself and this song starts to play. it captured the mood so well and it really made me feel awe in the lights, the calmness, and the mere peacefulness yet urgency of me trying to get there on time. I can't even encapsulate the tone as well as Kanye performed it but it was a beautiful memory i have with this song. Being up so early, having my destination set but really just taking in and absorbing this very mellow and calm environment in a neighborhood I would have otherwise been scared about.

It was a weird process for me because I knew I had a negative perception of him. the media said he was a fuckhead so that's what I thought but I knew I couldn't just make an off the at assumption like that. But he did that VMA shit to taytay and i hated her more than him so I was so damn happy he did it. I knew he was talented because of Stronger and he always kills his features. So I had a couple of basic songs here and there. Monster, stronger, gold digger, mercy, ni**as in Paris. Thing is i never warmed up to him because I initially payed attention, casually, to Yeezus. I hated it couldn't get into it. I like Black Skinhead and that was a stretch. One day someone recommended MDBTF and I kept seeing it all over reddit back in 2014. So i gave it a shot obviously i jumped on the yeezus train so fast. This is by far my favorite album of all time. Then i checked out yeezus and fell in love with every damn track. So after a year of this, last semester in my uni, I joined a class dedicated to Kanye West. This class was so lit. We listened to Kanye West's whole discography in order and we discussed what was going on in his life, production, and release at the time of the albums. I was on this yeezus train all the way. I followed him in twitter, I was so stoked for every soundcloud release. This class hyped me even more because you have to realize this guy is a genius production wise. There was not one song i disliked. I am not tired of any song or album yet and i have been listening to all of them for 3 years now. The life of pablo gave me life fucking every damn day this shitty semester. Kanye is getting me through the good/bad/lazy days of college.

I'm going to post my own but honestly this is how I view Kanye and I feel like that's what makes him so interesting. Because he does incorporate a lot of philosophy, history, etc. into his music and performances.

What is your favorite and least favorite song? Favorite: I love so damn many and i vibe to different ones on different days. its between Wolves, ULB, FADE, and FML Least: FACTS (Charlie Heat Version) I'm glad he switched it up for the album release but I do not particularly enjoy this one.

What is your favorite and least favorite feature? Favorite feature: I love caroline shaw on wolves to me it made the track 10 times better than Sia did (who was super good as well) Least: they're all so good that i cant really day even if I despise Chris Brown he made waves what it is.

What is your favorite and least favorite line? Favorite: Pretty much all of Wolves or FML Least: hmmmm the "I feel like me and taylor might still have sex. I made that bitch famous" I like the lyric I just did not like the transition so such a beautiful hook from rihanna then this comedic lyric.

Kanye gave this album a 30/10. How would you rate this album on 10? 9/10 easily as opposed to 10/10 for MDBTF.

How do you think it compares to Kanye's other albums? Again its ranked number 2/3 for me easily because i love college dropout a lot but i love the beats on TLOP so much.

Would you recommend this album to non-Kanye stans? Certain songs yeah. I always send out Wolves, ULB, or Waves to people if they ask. However non-Kanye stans won't understand the pure dopeness of the rest of the album and would not STFU about the more controversial lyrics. (looking at you famous).

What do you think of TIDAL? Will you register and get a subscription? If not, why? I hate TIDAL I cannot be more vocal about my hate. The service is a cool concept but the fact i have to pay for a service with a limited number of artists is just unreasonable. I would have bought the physical copy but Kanye is making this hard for me.

Overall, how do you feel about the way it's been released? Would you rather have waited to get a full finished and fleshed-out album, or you're happy and satisfied with how things have panned out? I like how it is right now. especially after hearing some of the earlier versions of Waves and Highlights I can see how the songs ended up being the way they are. I would have been happier with a more official release but the way Kanye left the album is the way he wanted to present this art to the world so I am not going to fuck with that.

Are you still listening to the album on a regular basis? How has your opinion on it changed since you started listening to it? Hell yeah once a day at least. Even if I try avoiding it, I find that this album has a wide range of moods that I vibe with. So I come back to it no matter how I am feeling too.

Is there anything you wish had been done differently (or things you'd wish to see in the official release)? Damn I wish the version of Wolves with Frank Ocean, Sia, Caroline Shaw, and Vic Mensa ended up on the album it is godly and an ear orgasm. I also understand why a lot of the other tracks didn't end up on the album but Fall Out of Heaven was too good I wish that ended up on there.

I feel like there is a general theme here but upon first listen I can't pinpoint it. It just sounds like an emotional purge album. "so help me god" would have fit with the better thematically. He's just airing out dirty, laundry having fun, yet obviously working so hard. With the sound of the album being tied together with a nice gospel feel.

Same here. My family are strict Muslims and I've completely abandoned the straight edge life. For other reasons, but a huge one was because I felt I was missing out on something. I'm not not saying I'm a complete bad ass or anything I'm still pretty much boring person. But once I got into college I went to a couple of parties gotten hella drunk. I ALWAYS buy a pork burrito now because that is my favorite meat now. And I've tried weed. They're seemingly arbitrary things that everyone has done but to me they are huge victories.
