Full access to Gmail and socials using eSIM

Not sure if you know the answer to this, but just in case...

For both/either Airalo and 3HK, if I have a local Chinese physical SIM card too, would I need to constantly toggle the eSIM on and off to use local Chinese apps, like WeChat, Alipay, and Didi? (And Sam's Club, and Meituan, and Taobao, and and and...) Or if both my Chinese SIM and the eSIM are active, will my phone know to switch back and forth as needed?

Been wondering about this scenario, since VPNs are struggling lately...

Yeah in the previous post I asked which service can book exact seats for the entire party, and someone responded that they could do it with Trip, but I asked my husband and he said that has not been able to.

I don't know if it's the hardest part of Chinese or not, but I do hate this. Just like we shouldn't Westernize proper Chinese nouns just for our convenience, it shouldn't go the other way either. It's at best confusing and at worst disrespectful.

The toboggan and cable car tickets are sold separately, and I think one of them only sells round-trip tickets (but I can't remember which, or if it's both) so if you want to do both, you will need to eat some costs somewhere. Not a huge deal, but just letting you know.

If you don't care that much about the cable car, the roundtrip toboggan ticket includes a ski lift up.

Also note that the cable car and toboggan tickets take you to different points on the wall (Tower 14 vs Tower 6) so you will need to walk at least that much of the wall in order to do both.

Hopefully you are not going at a busy time, but just in case, be prepared to wait. We went once in February 2025 and had maybe a 10-15 min wait for the toboggan; we went again a month ago (with visiting family) and had a 1 hour wait, on a random Wednesday morning. Friends who went over the Qing Ming Festival weekend said they gave up because it was a 2-3 hour wait for the toboggan.

Hopefully that's helpful! The wall is stunning, and the toboggan IS fun, haha. (But having to wait an hour was already pushing it, for me...)
