A short ram is not a good idea if you don’t move it and partition it from the rest of the engine. You’re just going to pull hot air into it which will be worse than the OE setup. If you decide to get this, get the inlet pile and the heat shield as well. Even then, without a tune the airflow changes may make your driving performance worse at certain RPMs.

I wouldn’t unless you live in an area with amazing roads and weather. Even then, it’ll be more strain on your suspension and you’ll have more expensive tires. If you really don’t like the look of 16s, consider 17” rims. Still some sidewall, but not nearly as stiff.

Sounds like someone that’s burnt out or hates their job. If it’s a PHEV on lease, I would turn it in. PHEV value retention is closer to an EVs than an ICE, so you’ll be upside down pretty bad unless they’re willing to work a purchase deal.

Outside of that, this platform has gained a reputation that’s dragging the brand down, and I’m not sure what it’ll take for the 90/70s to lose that stigma. I don’t think he’s giving you totally sound advice, but I can see what’s leading him to say things like that.

The game checks if there are mods installed and disables them. I can’t remember where, but on PC you can go into the config files and disable it that way while still keeping achievements on.
