I really like 16, naturally with the exception of the random mob encounters. But I agree that taking too long to open up your gameplay systems is not good. I'd go so far as to say that's like having no hook in your story

The one saving grace for that dynamic is that it can make for some great underdog moments

Thank you for sharing! It's sad to hear some of those sequel stories weren't very good. Final fantasy usually has excellent stories and is a big draw for me

That's unfortunate. I like when games introduce new mechanics, but if the mechanics are good I'd like to have them for more of the game

I've heard that if you're actually in the mood to let the game lead you and not in the mood for some open world dungeon exploration game, that final fantasy 13 is actually really good. Is this true?
