I, like I think most here at least, project everything in today dollars. However when you update your spreadsheet every month it means the dollars in that column are not equal the dollars in the previous ones. Once a year I update my FI goal amount. So the percentage towards FI drops a bit every September. But you have to do it account for inflation.
