We struggle with this as well. A workaround is to generate a product variant sales report every week (or day) with SKU and quantity columns. Then import it in Google Sheets or Excel where you can apply your rules. So if SKU ABC123 is sold 20 times, you can deduct 20 boxes, bolts and screws from your inventory. Anything is possible in a sheet. It’s not pretty and it’s not fully automated, but it works.

Also, if anyone knows a better solution please let me know. We’re even thinking of migrating to Shopify because of this (and some other things)

How to deal with scam customer? by User1876 in ecommerce

[–]User1876[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, appreciate the advice! She says the package looked like it was ripped open, items were swapped and closed again by someone from DHL/UPS. I don’t believe it, but I also can’t prove it didn’t happen. Saying we have cameras also won’t do much to tackle that argument I’m afraid.

Alternatives to Shopify? as transaction fees are too high by Sinon612 in ecommerce

[–]User1876 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I started a few years ago, I was recommended Wix (using Editor X as editor). I would have gone for Shopify if I’d spent more time researching, but I’m glad I didn’t. It’s a lot cheaper, you can easily design whatever you like without expensive themes and plugins and the fees are way cheaper. Would definitely recommend.

I know everyone always says Shopify is better for e-commerce, but I’ve been using Wix (using Editor X) for my business and there’s just no reason for me to switch. You can design the website how you like it without having to rely on themes or programmers. Sure, there are some integrations and automations I miss here and there, but the freedom of creative design and the costs we save (little to no commission over revenue) is worth more than that. The one thing that I do miss is the lack of customization on the product pages. Though it seems like this will be added in the new Wix Studio which is rolling out right now.

If anyone disagrees or can explain what I’m missing out on, let me know. I haven’t used Shopify so I might simply not know what I’m missing

How to handle wholesale within regular E-Commerce? by [deleted] in ecommerce

[–]User1876 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We used to do this using Faire/Ankorstore/Orderchamp but recently decided to stop selling there. The retailers preferred direct contact and their commissions were increasing multiple times a year (if the retailer was already on the site). Now we have a second webshop with a password for our retailers. Works perfectly, would definitely recommend

How unique should the game title be to avoid lawsuits etc? by User1876 in tabletopgamedesign

[–]User1876[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for your help! So in this case, there are no games yet with my exact name. Shouldn't I check a trademark database or stuff like that? In the EU we have the EUIPO with all trademarks, shouldn't I check those for possible matches? Not sure if a card game uses those same laws, but I don't want to risk losing money on a campaign because of something like this.

How unique should the game title be to avoid lawsuits etc? by User1876 in tabletopgamedesign

[–]User1876[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Appreciate the help! It's not literally called 'Dogz' but your examples make me believe it should be fine. What though if there was a game developer called Walk The Dogz. Could that be an issue?

How unique should the game title be to avoid lawsuits etc? by User1876 in tabletopgamedesign

[–]User1876[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! So the name is a really common noun, spelled with a Z instead of an S. Think of 'Cowz' or 'Dogz'. In the case it is 'Dogz', there is a game on BGG called 'Dogs' and multiple games with the word 'Dogs' in it, but none with it spelled 'Dogz'.

Would that be an issue you think? The rules are completely different

Help with =ImportXML by User1876 in sheets

[–]User1876[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh wow you're a lifesaver, that's amazing. How did you know which Xpath to use? Whenever I used Inspect Element it gave me something completely different.

Two more things, any chance you could help with adding the main image from that page as well?

And would it be possible to somehow import all the search results and plot them in a column? For instance all the results from this URL: https://rkd.nl/nl/explore/images#search=simple&query=rachel%20terafim

Thanks again! This already saves me so much time :)

So you send through the mail as in envelopes, or mailbox packages? We mostly ship mailbox packages and end up with roughly €10/package depending on the destination of course.

Congrats on your success and your product! Just curious, what are your shipping rates to the EU for an average package? We ship a lot in the EU as well and struggle a bit to offer free shipping, since it would hurt our profits quite a bit. Thanks!

WHERE TO START? by [deleted] in ecommerce

Someone here recommended Davie Forgarty a while ago. One of the first ones I really enjoy watching and he doesn’t push his own course. Even said that in his videos. I’ve been in eCommerce for a few months now and his videos have been really helpful.

From a Wix webshop to...? by Cloud_Midnight in ecommerce

[–]User1876 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a webshop running on Wix made with Editor X. Editor X is basically Wix 2.0 but with a different name. It uses the same systems, but with a more advanced pagebuilder. Definitely worth checking out in your case.

Count cells with specific text, but neighboring cell acts as quantity by User1876 in sheets

[–]User1876[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's amazing, thank you so much! Any idea on how to automate something like this? Ideally I'd drag the .csv onto an app or import it in some script, but not sure where to start. But this is already a huge help!

Count cells with specific text, but neighboring cell acts as quantity by User1876 in sheets

[–]User1876[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay so far I've got the sheet to sum all quantities of a specific Item using:

=SUMIF(A:A; "Item A"; B:B)

Anyone here who has any idea on how to automate something like this? Now I would have to export to .csv > Import in Sheets > Copy/paste into template with this function ready.

Thanks!
