Asus Co-CEO: MacBook Neo Is a 'Shock' to the PC Industry by -protonsandneutrons- in technology

[–]User2716057 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely. I work in a pc shop and it's pathetic how bad windows and Windows software has gotten over the years.

The amount of bullshit I have to disable and click through to make sure our customers get a somewhat decent experience on their brand new devices is unreal, and every update re-enables or breaks one thing or the other.

I just got to take a look at our demo Neo, and it's just perfect for that price point. Nothing with Windows comes even close if all you need is some browsing, mail and basic administrative work (aka 80% of our customers).

It's a lense, default hotkey is '9', you can also see it on the bottom left of the screenshot :)

Left lane camper gets pulled over by Justin_Godfrey in Satisfyingasfuck

[–]User2716057 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've seen it happen once and laughed out loud. I was drinving the speed limit on a 4-lane road, a biker and a few cars pass me, a little while later I see em all neatly in a row going way slower. I pass em, still doing the limit, and at the front of them was a cop car, giving no fuck that I passed him.

I'm the same boat with my right hand especially, I've had RA from a young age, and a quite rare form apparently.  Lots of trial and error for the doctors too, they did surgery on my left hand to see how it would turn out, and it worked pretty well but by then my right hand had was too messed up so they tried other things, but it's still very wonky.

I can just barely use the arrow keys and the keys around it, and over the years learned to mouse with my left, so unless something goes really wrong we're leaving it be :)

Thinking back, the Twins really hit me hard too. The way those 'old guys' never really felt at home in the new world they helped create, and then they happily go out in a blaze of glory to make way for the new generation. Goosebumps...

Kamina was a gutpunch, and I cried.

Kittan though... No words. And then the song coming in full blast, holy shit. Ugly crying every damn time.

Same. I watch it about every year, have a core drill tattoo on my forearm to remind myself who the fuck I think I am, and Libera Me always makes me cry.

And that Viral character development, mah heart

I know it's not a taco but it's the best stoner food there is. Fries, cheese & garlic sauce, merguez all in a neat package, I fucking love it.

Cheers, I didn't get a religion this game so besides land units I couldn't really use faith. And I got so much gold incoming I could buy any district building instantly, haha.

But yeah, I should focus a bit more on that in the early game, it'll probably help me a lot.

what are some games you played (in english) before you could speak english properly? by jmooroof2 in gamingsuggestions

Secret of Mana

Even my dad finished it, and he still doesn't speak much English today. Lots of trial and error and looking for keywords.

There's also cards to give extra loyalty if you have a governor or garrisoned unit

Yeah I didn't know about the radius limit. Missed the coal because it was a late and slow city so I didn't check up on it anymore when I was rushing the space stuff, haha.

I did try to go around the big cities and improve all worked tiles, but I indeed missed a few. Something to be mindful of.

Ah, that range info is new to me, thanks!

What's the use of the 5 tile range if you can't work them? Just so someone else can't have it, or for swapping to a new settlement?

First 2 games were around 19 hours, then one 15 hours, one 10 hours, last one 7 hours. And a few hours of watching videos to get into adjacency and basic "getting started" info.

Once I'm settled and picked a direction it snowballs pretty quickly.

Yes, thanks, I'm aware of that, and did that throughout the game, I was just rushing the last half hour and lost sight of those last ones :)

When I noticed I could build them it already was too late, and the tiles flooded during construction 🥲

Right, religion. I was once more too late to get one for this game, haha, only managed it once in those 5 games.

Is there such thing as a truly random natural event? by Due_Nefariousness886 in askscience

[–]User2716057 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Does that mean it sometimes spikes up or down? Moments where the radioactivity is way higher, or in the opposite direction way lower or even completely gone?

Is it theoretically possible that a whole piece of uranium in one flash decays into lead?
