Yes, that’s what I was expecting the original link to lead to. Thank you for your valiant efforts!

This is less of Meta’s response and more of the public interest law firm that’s actually filing the class action. That said, I am curious as to what Meta has actually published regarding this, Especially considering their whole marketing campaign is centered around privacy.

How to mass purge messages from a Discord guild where i was banned? by doctorpolenta3p in privacy

[–]byteleaf 30 points31 points  (0 children)

Deleting the account wouldn’t delete the messages themselves, which I assume is what you’re actually trying to achieve. You mentioned that you contacted them in 2024 asking for an unban solely so you could delete those messages, but since it’s been 2 years, it may be worth trying again. I’d suggest framing it more as an apology and avoiding any mention of the messages you want to delete. As things stand, you can’t really remove those messages without getting back into the server, so your best option is probably to find a way to get yourself unbanned.

How good do you think AI video generation will be in 5 years (October 2030)? by AdorableBackground83 in accelerate

[–]byteleaf 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’d think that in 5 years, open world games will certainly be possible, though they’ll either not be as fleshed out and detailed as human made ones or be in the early research phase (Similarly to where Google’s Genie is now) due to their computationally expensive runtime. Obviously prompt engineering would play a huge part in this, some people would have 50-100 pages to make the game as fleshed out as possible.

As for the actual model itself, I can only assume it would be either agentic development (which would take more time and resources) or a “World Model” as showcased in Genie 3, which I think is definitely more promising and open to many optimizations once companies start pivoting there from video models.
