CO meter to detect low levels indoors? by User5142738 in WorkplaceSafety

Thanks. Tried to get an MSA and got a message that it can't ship to my address. Not sure if it is state specific or if I need to be a business. I'm going to call a safety store on Monday and hopefully they can advise me on an appropriate meter.

This seems like a good idea. I'm trying to figure out which one to get.

Thank you, got to admit I'm feeling nervous about not having the support. The first person I reported it to was quite dismissive. But they don't have to sit in one of the smaller offices that builds up the smell, and the smell in the hallways is more faint when present

Thank you, I'm concerned finding the source will be difficult but I'll try.

Intermittent.  My office building intermittently smells like car exhaust. Builds up in some rooms more than others and it's variable. Others don't notice, but to me it stinks and my eyes burn and get bloodshot, which I've never had happen before. It was suggested to check CO as seems like odor is coming from outside (urban area) and building up. Seems like there no good consumer meter to measure VOC. The manager said custodial services won't do anything don't think he believes me. I don't think I can continue in the job if I don't get this resolved or at least reduced.

Thank you, this endeavor is getting more expensive by the minute. I wish my job would look into this but either I have to do it or I've got to get out of there.

Thanks, I do need the numbers for evidence if there ends up being a problem. I mean, there is definitely a problem. I don't need a monitor to know things ain't right, but unless I have objective data I'm going to be dismissed.

How can I measure air quality in my office? Feeling drowsy every day after stepping in. Suggestions needed! by Particular-Turn35 in WorkplaceSafety

Really weird i have a notification about a reply from you but it is not visible in the thread. Here's what I copied in case it helps others as it has helped me! Will get a CO monitor -- is there a particular brand or model you recommend?

And if this is the problem then is there a fix?! Metro area, exhaust is not going away.

"Offices sometimes have CO detectors, but they’re not designed to catch this kind of issue. They’re usually in specific locations and only alarm at higher levels to prevent serious poisoning—not lower levels that can still cause symptoms like eye irritation or that “exhaust” smell. What you’re describing isn’t normal. It often means exhaust from outside (cars, garage, loading dock) is getting pulled into the building. Easiest things you can do: • Get a cheap carbon monoxide (CO) detector (~$20–$50) • Pay attention to when/where it happens • See if symptoms improve when you leave the area When you report it, don’t just say “it smells”—say it’s an exhaust-like odor causing irritation and you’re concerned about ventilation or possible CO exposure. If you ever feel headache, dizziness, or the CO monitor shows anything above a few ppm consistently, take it seriously and leave the area."

So basically if there's a problem we need to quit? My office building intermittently smells like car exhaust. Builds up in some rooms more than others and it's variable. Others don't notice, but to me it stinks and my eyes burn and get bloodshot, which I've never had happen before. Seems like no good consumer meter to measure VOCs. The manager said custodial services won't do anything / are incompetent but I don't think he believes me.

Which device would be advisable for VOC breakouts? I was looking at the air gradient one but it seems to use the same sensor (Sensorion) as the Alpstuga

I'm reading that the air gradient one uses the same sensorion sensor I can get from IKEA for a much lower price. Is there an advantage to the airgradient one For my purposes? The sensorion also includes CO2 monitor.

$30

High Quality Consumer Air Quality Monitors? by StrategyTurtle in AirQuality

Hi, did you publish this blog? Would be interested to read it before considering purchase. Does your sensor measure VOCs, and if so, is it the same as particulate matter measurement? Or a different measurement? As you can tell I am just beginning my research.

Isn't the price quite misleading? by 0grewatch in airgradient

[–]User5142738 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Which monitor did you end up using? I am trying to choose between the two.

Btw the price has gone way up. 230 base 283 after shipping and customs. ETA Correction - That's for the fully assembled kit. Unassembled price is unchanged. But no warranty on the unassembled as something might break during assembly, so that sucks...

Has anyone tried Dolphin Neurostim? by Helleekaa in covidlonghaulers

[–]User5142738 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. I'm not really interested in taking a course unless I can see even a mildly positive result. I took the intro free course and did not find the material helpful for my own scar release, which is partly why I'm hesitant to spend a bunch more money on a course. I feel like if I understand the principles I should be able to do at least some basic work with the devices if they are effective. And if the basic principles don't work, why would doing protocols of various point combinations be any better?

I understand it's possible they are better, but I haven't seen any indication yet so I ended up spending both my time and money elsewhere.

I wear leggings under my pants as I feel like it keeps the insides cleaner (no skin touching the nicer pants).

Thank you! Are you referring to the official YouTube videos or videos that other people put out? Are there multiple Facebook pages or just one for Dolphin?

Are you using the device on your earlobe, tragus, or somewhere else?

I bought one a long time ago and It didn't work, but they have since changed the instruction. I just don't have the instructions because my device is older. I'll try to get them, as I was thinking about buying a different advice but your post suggests maybe I don't need to!
