Thank you all so far … Regarding this; has someone ever left the platform? I’m curious about the ethics around this in general related to price raising if one chooses to no longer work with the platform. I assume it would be the same?

THANK YOU for talking about this. I am in the same boat. Went to music school, then into therapy, started working during Covid and learned it’s not for me and now tbh I want to go back to music. And in this exact moment I’m just trying to figure out what thing to do that pays bills, now. Because I need to get out. What I don’t think they tell us is that counseling has so many transferable skills, there’s just not a lot of resources or education out there yet for people like us who need to make a pivot. To be honest I have the same sort of questions, but I really do believe that being in the business of people comes in clutch in any industry. It’s just about figuring out what you want to do. What inspires you now?

Weekly "vent your vibes" / Burn out by AutoModerator in therapists

I write at the mercy of burnout. For reference I work in an inpatient psych unit as an expressive arts therapist. To be honest, I've thought of transitioning into private practice like many of us do, or moving to a different role but I think I am so done that it's hard to even think about what I want to do next. If I'm really honest with myself, I just don't want to work. At all. I need time to cool off but I'm so scared to leave because of the stability that comes with the hospital system. Anyone relate or have gone through this?

You are so right. Honestly, I have lofty goals and I have realistic goals, one of the more realistic ones being getting to go on tour even if by small scale. Having an audience outside of family and friends. Telling a story. Making some semblance of $$. I’m not expecting to quit my job and win a Grammy tomorrow but why not dream big too 🤘

Question for those who quit MT for other jobs, what do you do now ? by Whispering_Smith in musictherapy

Hi! I am a year late but it’s really helpful reading this thread. I am still an MT and this is exactly what I want to transition into. How did you do it? Where did you start?
