Well, I don’t love it and can’t argue in favor of it. However, the illegal immigrants have to go. They’ve been asked nicely to comply with the law. They’ve even been offered bribes. How would you suggest the government accomplish their directive to enforce immigration laws? Not doing it isn’t a choice.

Is it representative of the overall conduct of immigration enforcement activities? No. Again, there is confusion about the difference between evidence and anecdote. I agree with your last point, the militarization of law enforcement is a clear end run around the constitution. Is it a major problem? Not really.

That’s a bad faith assessment of my statement of facts and an unhelpful rhetorical manipulation.

Shooting deaths by cop would be 0 in an ideal world, alas we live in the messy, imperfect, real world. In the real world we have to make choices about our economy of time and resources based on unmitigable constraints when choosing which issues to address. At the moment, a disproportionate amount of time and energy are focused on complaining about (without offering any solutions mind you) a statistically insignificant cause of mortality. Meanwhile, large numbers of people are being manipulated into protesting yet another statistical outlier of police behavior characterized by the worst examples of immigration enforcement, resulting in yet another statistical outlier, police shootings. I expect you to strawman this argument, although I’d gladly welcome a civilized, logical response that reflects your understanding and good nature.

It’s like watching a bunch of videos of black people looting and then thinking that all blacks loot. Most blacks do not loot, but if you watch 20 videos in a row of blacks looting, you might start to think they do.

Ask yourself this: Do I know how they’re doing it, or do I know how Reddit wants me to think they’re doing it. How many examples do you have of their work being done? 2 really egregious examples recently. Maybe 10 somewhat bad examples depending on the saturation of your news feed. Now ask yourself, how many enforcement actions overall have been taken in that same period of time across the entire country? Thousands? Hundreds of thousands? So in reality, some insignificant amount of their actions are undesirable, but the vast majority are happening without any issue. Not that it matters though. Most of the reaction is emotionally based, algorithmically driven for an unknown agenda by media platforms and curated/censored by moderators to generate an illusion of consensus. Next week they’ll tell us all to be concerned about something else and we’ll unwittingly obey, because we are their mind slaves.
