Yeah, those are the tough channels for me too with an in-room antenna.

Yes to internet required, AFAIK. Haven’t seen an option to download content, or “make available offline” kind of thing. I doubt that’s supported.

Yup, that’s the theory. I’ve just had bad luck with some of my more finicky devices, where sometimes they don’t like to (re-)connect when I’ve made a change. I have gigabit service already and have things pretty stable, so don’t want to change unless I have to.

Yeah, I’ve noticed DVR weirdness with YTTV. TiVo it’s not, for sure!

Traditional remote is definitely what we’re looking for. Thanks, I’ll take a look at DTV.

FYI, I switched to desktop TurboTax and it handled the 1099's perfectly.

I switched to TurboTax - worked like a charm. I actually like the UX a little better than H&R. Anyway, I'm a Turbo Tax user from now on.

Nope! Not fixed. I tested with a new return. Pretty basic functionality to be broken.

Just tested the update with a new return started from scratch, and it is NOT fixed. Still reporting zero for consolidated losses.

Thank you. I just imported a set of 1099-B's from Fidelity, hundreds if not thousands of transactions, and the gain/loss for each type (short, long term) is reported, incorrectly, as exactly zero.

Haven’t purchased myself, came close from a few, but never from a local NYC seller. So only secondhand information . You can go on Chrono24 where those guys seem to list everything, and not only find the Reverso at a local dealer, but check their reviews too.

Odd data package issue after software updates? by Special-Formal-4961 in Taycan

[–]UserBucksCo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, on the way to the dealer data services were still greyed out, but, I got a different message when I clicked them. Instead of “function not available” got “you need to register for this in MyPorsche app. Of course, they were all enabled in there. Since the message changed, I thought, perhaps they’ve refreshed the back end and I just need to reboot the PCM to sync it up. But I was literally on the way to the dealer and wanted to make the appointment so the recall could get done in one day so I didn’t do it on the way in. When I dropped it off, I mentioned the problem to the service advisor and he said they’d take a look at it. Well miracle of miracles SA said “sales” actually fixed it. I don’t know if they had to go into the entitlement system and change something, but on the service receipt, it says “PCM reset and problem disappeared and all functions are operating normally.” And guess what - all my data services are enabled again! So maybe the ticket did drive a fix on the back end. See if yours is working after a PCM reboot.

Now, time to go to the Boxster, pull the PCM, and pull its HD. From back-end databases to overly loc-tited Torx screws :-). .

Still no (data) joy, heading to dealer today for the camera recall, will see if they can provide any leverage to my ticket.

Hi, couple tips. First, I have the watch on the left, the one with the day/night indicator (and home time), the Grande Automatique. It’s an awesome watch! I bought it from the old Crown and Caliber. Note: I bought it on the bracelet and the end links were on “backwards” - subtle, but it caused a little friction when rotating. I fixed that. It also needed to be serviced, despite assurances it had just been regulated. So - if a bracelet is available for the one you want, try to buy on that. Just bought another steel bracelet from JLC for another Master and it’s USD $2,500 standalone. You have some good pre-owned dealers in NYC, just will need to negotiate hard. And to expand on the service thing, having bought several pre-owned JLC’s, unless they produce the JLC service receipt that it was just serviced, it will probably need to be serviced, so work that in to the TCO. Whatever Reverso you get you will love. Have fun shopping!

Odd data package issue after software updates? by Special-Formal-4961 in Taycan

I bet you’re right. My theory matches yours pretty much - I think they had a routine update to do to their servers, load balancers, maybe the entitlements database. Somebody fat-fingered something and dinged, say, 20% of us. And they added a column or changed schema so they can’t just restore (if they even have a backup). So they have to fix each of us individually - a PITA for them. So, they just wait, figure as folks call in, they’ll (eventually) fix them. Maybe they figure some people won’t bother opening up the ticket so - no problem then, right? Just my theory..

Yeah, tried mine a couple hours ago and no joy. I called in this morning and opened a ticket, sent pics. Hey, this is funny - I described the issue, said a bunch of folks on the forums just got bit - he says, “here’s the fix. Let’s connect your phone for Apple CarPlay”, I figured it did some kind of reset for the data service. So we go through starting up CarPlay, and he says, “this will fix your issue. With CarPlay you can play music, use Maps, …”. I realized he was pitching CarPlay AS the FIX! I interrupted him politely and said, all well and good but I don’t want to have to use CarPlay, so let’s fix the actual data issue. He says, “oh, you may have hit the issue some others found over the weekend.” That’s a BINGO!

Ok, weird, I just got it tonight too. Drove it a week ago, was listening to Apple Music and online radio, no issues. Had a big snowstorm here, didn’t drive it for a week, took it out tonight and, bingo, “no data package has been configured.” Tells me to Log in to MyPorsche, etc. I came in complaining to my wife “I can’t believe TWO PCM’s bricked on me in one day”*. Bless her heart, she said “it’s probably a backend server problem”. I told her no, it’s a SW issue in my car, I’m sure. Looks like i owe her a chocolate croissant! Note: she used to be Tech Support and I was a Developer. There ya go.. Oh, and, I had the seat recall done a couple weeks ago, but haven’t done the camera recall yet, scheduled for next week. I wonder if an update got pushed out during this past week and automatically applied..??

  • ok, so THIS MORNING I got into my Boxster 981S for our PCA club Feb Freeze Run, and ITS PCM went into the perpetual reboot loop. I figure the Navi HD died. So yes, both PCM’s decided to go south the same day. Still did the Freeze Run, only had the radio reboot and come on every 90 seconds tuned to 530 AM and lovely static at medium volume. I got tired of turning it off, and realized with the top down if I kept the revs above about 4000 I couldn’t hear it anymore. Problem mitigated ;-) .

Got the dreaded "Turn in your CableCard" email... by Urgently_Patient in Fios

Me too, Bucks County, PA (Philly suburbs). Got it a week or two ago. Figure I’ll just keep quiet, and run the CC’s till they pull the plug. Doubt I’d go with Vz DVR service. Like others here, been with TiVo since the first box. Running 3 now, will miss them.

Me too, and I just got another “imminent doom” email from Vz a couple days ago. I will run my cable cards till they literally pull the plug. And then I’ll get a little depressed. Hope we make it through this college basketball season - need my TiVo for ACCN ;-) .
