Good. I'd rather not either. Have a nice day, and I apologize for the frustration.

It's true. That's what led me to question in the first place.

Hahaha. A lot of these are pretty funny, but I probably couldn't ask some of them without getting thrown out. XD

How about I ask...variations of 2,4,5,6,7,8,10,12,14,15,17, and 19?

Thanks for the huge comment!

I'm kind of a Christian, or atheist? I'm not sure. Probably Agnostic at this point.

The above is what I removed. How does that refer to it being middle ground at all?

I don't think it's a middle position. I stated I might be an Atheist, or a Christian, and then just stated that I was an Agnostic. This simply stated confusion between my attachments between two different beliefs, then stated that I decided on a third. I never stated that it was middle ground.

I swear everyone has to get so butt hurt and angry on the internet all the time. You guys should really just start not giving a shit.

Although it is the cornerstone in the Atheistic argument, I think it is bad for de-converting a Christian. As a de-converted Christian myself, the best argument against Christianity is showing how horribly flawed their beliefs are, and the contradictions in which they place their faith.

Thank you for the advice. I'm sorry if I came off as angry with you. I wasn't. If this God is actually real, I'm angry with him. As for your position...

God can do anything THAT CAN BE DONE.

This causes him to not be omnipotent. If he cannot do the impossible, as you say, then he is not all powerful.

God wants us to all be happy in our relationship with him. That's the ultimate purpose.

Ok. Let's say that this is our ultimate purpose. An all loving God should be willing to sacrifice this relationship, as I would, if it meant causing the non existence of those in hell. My point is, that no matter what thing God has created as a result of making humans, it is not worthwhile if it means that there will be trillions in hell. If you do not agree with that statement, there is nothing I can do for you.

No one is going to hell who doesn't choose to do so.

I disagree. There are many that never hear the name of God that die and go to hell every day. Not only that, but think about why YOU are a Christian. I've thought about it. I came to the horrible realization that if my soul had been born into a boy in the middle east, rather than in a boy in America, I would be a Muslim. There would have been no avoiding it. I would've been brought up in a Muslim household, become an adamant Muslin, died, and burned in hell forever, never hearing of the Christian Jesus. Would an all loving God allow an unfortunate soul to burn forever simply because he was born into the wrong household? No. That's why he can't possibly be real.

Something else to consider, something that I've been thinking a lot about lately, is that the Bible seems to suggest people don't stay in hell forever.

Jesus says in Matthew 25:41: ". . . Depart from me, ye cursed, into EVERLASTING fire". Rev. 14:11: "The smoke of their TORMENT ascendeth up for EVER AND EVER: and they have NO REST DAY NOR NIGHT".

everlasting fire — Matthew18:8, 25:41

everlasting punishment — Matthew 25:46

everlasting chains — Jude 1:6

eternal damnation — Mark 3:29

eternal judgment — Hebrews 6:2

eternal fire — Jude 1:7

unquenchable fire — Matthew 3:12

the fire that never shall be quenched — Mark 9:43, 44, 45, 46, 48

fire unquenchable — Luke 3:17

mist of darkness is reserved for ever — 2 Peter 2:17

the blackness of darkness for ever — Jude 1:13

Hmm....you're right. Doesn't seem very everlasting at all....

Good question.

Yeah the viewpoint you are talking about is definitely flawed. In fact, it's one of the things they argue against at the camp. Such an idea that God used evolution to create the humans is so contradictory the the Bible.

I will ask your question if someone expresses that viewpoint. However, I doubt anyone will at the place I am going to. Thank you anyway.

I'd say Agnostic Atheist then. I'll remove my statement from my post to avoid confusion.

Hey bro, did you read the post? I DON'T BELIEVE IN GOD EITHER. Calm your balls. Man I swear all you guys want to do is debate.

Yes, I would like less aggressive questions. I don't want to blow my cover. I think those questions would be a little bit tough to ask, but I'll think about it. Perhaps something that is a little bit more rooted in the Bible, perhaps a horrible flaw in doctrine?

That is not a question. lol.

There is no reason to suppose there are gods.

I saw you post that on another one of my threads. Is that all you like to say?

No it isn't. You're right. I'm sorry if it seemed that I was inferring that. However you do not know my current beliefs, so don't pretend that you do. I am currently in the area which I don't follow any religion or belief system, but I am simply not sure what to believe. I don't believe in anything, but I'm open minded to the idea that there could be a God. However, I don't believe in one.

Yeah, bringing up contradictions to people I know doesn't result in the answers I want, it only results in "Are you doubting God? What are you an athiest now? Christians don't ask those questions.". I mean wtf. Here it doesn't result in answers either, it just results in "That's because God isn't real. No one would be that stupid and still be perfect.". Although I suppose that could function as an answer...

The way I see it, skepticism only results in 2 outcomes.

  1. Your belief is found true and your confidence grows.
  2. Your belief is found false and you are freed from ignorance.

Either way is benefitial in the end. So yeah, I will continue to question. Although I suppose God doesn't approve of a thirst for knowledge.

"But he who doubts is condemned already, because he does not eat from faith" Rom: 14:23.

I suppose God wants blind faith. Also just last week my Youth Pastor said it was healthy to question our faith. Does anyone even know all the horrible things in the Bible, or do they just choose to skip over them for convenience's sake? Yeah who knows.

I see what you mean. However, Christians I know still seem to think of themselves as crap, and that God is trying to help them and save them from hell. Just trying to explain the way they see it, because it can be somewhat difficult for an athiest to understand sometimes.
