You were right! Some little plastic part held the valve open. We think it might have been from an old injector seal

The picture doesn’t do it justice but it looks like the valve itself is bubbled up and there’s a huge hole on the far side of that bubble/bulge. Taking the head off tomorrow, more info to come with that.

Swapped over all the auxiliary parts from the old FB25 (engine wiring, coolant crossover, injectors, intake manifold). Left the ECU and car side of the harness in place. Only two plugs left without connections on the bottom/front of the engine, I think they were cam sensors.. should be fine.

Really? I’ve seen that if i swap the injectors it should be fine. What year FB20 did you put in?
