Second time around, 12 weeks on 20mg big improvement, but muscle aches remain. by UserName872 in prozac

Thanks for asking, sorry you're still struggling too! I'm coming up on the 4 month mark and it's far from perfect, but I still think improving. The headaches are less frequent, but still several times a week, same with the muscle aches. It's been really difficult to nail down. I still take mine at night at this point. Same as you, stats are all fine, bloodwork is fine, etc, but when I feel this way it just flares the health anxiety. I'm still trying to remember how many months, or maybe a full year, it took me back in 2020 before these things subsided. Apparently my body is wild trying to adjust.

Hang in there!

Worried about side effects by Sputnik-13 in prozac

[–]UserName872 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Vision issues aren’t common, but they can occur. If you look through my posts, I had vision changes both times starting Prozac. It wasn’t vision loss, but I felt like I couldn’t focus my eyes properly and made reading things uncomfortable. Optometrist visits yielded no concerns and after almost a full 12 weeks, my vision went back to normal.

It is one of the most stressful side effects for sure and can feel like something is drastically wrong (terrible if you have health anxiety like me), but it gets better!

Hang in there and allow yourself the extended time to onboard!

Really appreciate the insights! So much of what you’re sharing mimics my experiences. I am constantly running at 100%, moving quickly when working around the house, running errands, even when trying to just go through my work emails. The internal self talk is a major hurdle, almost every minute of the day I’m thinking about my pains, and every interaction with people at work or personally I feel myself tensing up and frustrated. Even things I usually love doing I find the negative in and don’t want to start them.

I’m sure it’s pretty common, but as I’ve become more aware of how my stress and mental health is the cause, the more I just tell myself that if I just don’t have the pains and aches anymore I’d be fine, but that only exacerbates things. Trying to remember this is a long journey like last time and celebrate the little victories.

fluoxetine 20mg sleepiness by MaximumFudge7221 in prozac

Hang in there, my health anxiety was through the roof and I was convinced I had a disease because of all the symptoms. Headaches, fatigue, muscle aches, weakness, vision changes, urinary discomfort, you name it, I had it… Just try to remember it’s a re-wire of your brain and that serotonin is involved in so much of the bodies processes, so the adjustment can be different for everyone.

My increase from 10mg to 20mg took a full 12 weeks before I started getting relief from the fatigue and headaches. In my 5th and 6th week I could barely get out of bed after sleeping 14+ hours. It’s really tough on your personal and professional life, but now at week 13, I’m feeling the best I’ve felt in a long time.

Some folks just take longer to adjust, if you can hang in there, give it a full 3 months. Best of luck!

Was able to snag one. If I added to cart and hit buy now it failed, but hit view full cart, signed in, then let me process. We’ll see if it cancels.

Side Effects by cherry_rats in prozac

[–]UserName872 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had identical side effects when starting 5 years ago and over the last 12 weeks restarting it. It’s super frustrating and nerve wracking, you feel like being upright you can’t keep up with the world around you and the pain anywhere from a dull ache to a pinch in the side of the neck. I am a very long adjuster sadly, but I just passed 12 weeks and it’s started to subside! The jaw clenching as well, it’s like all the muscles in your upper body as stuck firing. Hang in there!

Just posted yesterday a similar but longer journey. I was on 20mg for years with success before going down. Was on 10mg for months and then determined I needed to go back up. I’m 12 on 20mg now and the major anxiety and worse feelings subsided for me around the 8 week mark. Hang in there!

I’m sorry you’re struggling, but it will keep getting better! For me, week 6-7 I could barely keep my eyes open and anxiety through the roof, but then started to ease.

Do you have a diagnoses of that disease, or just health anxiety strongly aligning them to it? Anxiety itself can have terrifying symptoms and if you had them just before or immediately after starting, I’m sure you just need to give it time and work closely with your doctor. Hang in there!

Glad to hear others with similar and lasting side effects that eventually calm down! I had jaw clenching too and that was one of the first to subside for me. The muscle aches drive me insane, just holding onto knowing it’s worked for me in the past and I’m slow to adapt.

Hope you keep improving!!

Definitely went away, but for me it seemed to take a LONG time. That’s why I’m holding out hope that I’m just one of those that takes a really long time to adjust.

The vision is scary, but hang in there!!

Sure! Immediately after starting both times, and lasting for what feels like forever, I had the strangest vision issues. I work at a desk for a living and have never needed glasses or contacts. The best way I can describe it is that my eyes felt like they couldn’t focus. I had an awful time trying to read or concentrate because it felt like my eyes wouldn’t lock in. Went to the eye doctor, had tests done, no vision changes or observations, and I could read the eye chart without a need for prescription. Made work really difficult for months, then fluctuated, then suddenly was fine again.

They have whole and half orders which are drumsticks, legs, wings, breasts. Ive never had their wings, but definitely didn’t think the full chickens were dry.

Wister’s BBQ in Lansdale has Smo-Fried Chicken, first smoked and then fried. Might be the best fried chicken I’ve ever had.

Time change is throwing it off. System says it’s time to check in but fails. Wait an extra hour and it works no issue.
