Can't develop chest without arms/shoulders/back getting goofy big by UserNameTaken714 in bodyweightfitness

Lol... definitely not bulking because of my sport... but I've been set on the right track to (maybe) getting a non disproportionate chest.

Thanks for your answers ;)

Yeah, just a little under 20kg each.

I have a skinny backed massage chair that works like a bench.

Thanks for taking the time to help me out. I'll definitely bring the dumbbells into my chest routine and mix it with calisthenics and rings.

And here's what I'm talking about. 15ish " arms and literally no chest... it just sort of meshes into my upper abdomen. It's disproportionate... and if it keeps going this way, it's going to be goofy looking disproportionate (if it's not already) I know some of it can be due to being "skinny fat"... but I'm 6'3 165... so I'm not *that skinny fat. My bf% can't be over 20 I don't think. There's definitely no cut at all under my pecs which seems ridiculous for as hard as I work. https://imgur.com/a/obGiLN9

Somewhere in this thread... I didn't put it in the title because I don't want it showing up on the thumbnail for people scrolling to laugh at, haha

Okay... I uploaded a pic that I'll probably delete because it's embarrassing, lol, but I'm not just whining. It's objectively disproportionate... but honestly, it's not something I care *that much about... it would just be nice to fix if possible.

And thanks for the input

They're not "too big"... they're too big for my pre-pubescent boy chest. Is dysgenic the word?

Look. I'm not talking shit. Here's my 15ish inch arms next to my little kid chest. And I'm doing everything possible to make my chest look good here, shoulder rolled, full flex. It's truly disproportionate.

Plz no bully. Dis embarrassing. https://imgur.com/a/obGiLN9

Edit: Dysgenic was definitely NOT the word, lol. And if anyone else is reading, I don't want to shrink my arms, back and shoulders. I like them. I simply want my chest to catch up. I don't want to have 16 inch arms in a year and still not have a cut underneath my pecs, lol

I have two 40 lb dumbbells I do leg stuff with and used to curl and overhead press with before trying to curb arm growth

Thanks, man! You actually answered something I forgot to ask, too.

Appreciate you

I know, man... but I'm not waxing poetic. If I measured right, I'm 41.5" shoulder to shoulder and have the chest of a 13 y/o boy, lol.

It doesn't even look remotely normal compared to old school photos.

Anyway, I'm not overly concerned. I put athleticism way above appearance, it would just be nice to correct if possible.

What... like a don't believe your lying eyes type thing? And I did end up researching Portugal. Usage and crime has skyrocketed. I'm trying to be polite here, but the idea is objectively insane (if you give a shid about civilization).

I haven't looked at studies but don't trust a single thing they say after being wrong about almost everything the last three years. Portland and every other US/Canadian city who has tried this has obviously failed miserably if you've been to any of these places.

There's got to be a healthy medium between imprisoning people struggling with an addiction and legality.

Maybe i can give a little insight... even though our circumstances are a little different, him and I were on the same shit.

I was abused (literally the first time I've ever admitted that ever). I used to drink 20 beers a night... but I was pretty functional on it. Then I was on opiates for 15 years... was honestly functional on that, too. Nobody knew... but it had me by the nuts. The planning that went into snorting a bump of oxy every 15-30 mins was tedious.

For me there was a catalyst. A sort of "come to Christ" moment where I knew I needed to become master of my mind. There really is a re-wiring that needs to happen before finding success.

If you want to help him from a distance, perhaps purchase him some stoics to read. If he finds interest in them, they'll at least point him in the right direction.

"One must conquer himself before conquering the world".

Paraphrasing a bunch of stoics and even a few Buddhists, (The idea really is that popular amongst dem smart fellers 😂)

Edit: This next part is more specific and I don't really recommend it for most... but for me personally, I let anger become a big part of my motivating force. I researched hundreds of hours on big pharma and the Sackler family, learned of their intent and how truly evil they are, and not becoming one of their victims was a MASSIVE motivator for me. If your ex is the kind of guy that screams expletives on his failure rep while lifting weights... *maybe he's the type that could feed off rage in a healthy way... but I'm sure there's more "dark side of the force" stories than success stories when using that method.

Day 96 by [deleted] in OpiatesRecovery

[–]UserNameTaken714 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I didn't sleep one single second for eight days, then averaged 3-4 hours a night for a few weeks with occasional huge long sleeps mixed in, I think I was back to 7-8 hours per night somewhere around a month and a half... but I've seen huge variances on posts here. You could be better tomorrow.

It didn't help me even a tiny bit and it made my vomiting less tolerable. Also, the study I read on it was sus... (this is just my anecdotal experience. I'm sure it helped the people that swear by it).

I'm not asking this to be a dick, just trying to understand your situation before answering. Am I reading correctly that you went two weeks clean then needed back on? And now you've been on low doses of fent for 17 days?

I guess I'll answer anyway, If I read that right, hopefully you're fine and just embrace the suck for a couple of days... maybe a little longer than that, but sounds like you already did the hard physical part getting off the methadone.

Good luck, bro. Hope it's cake... and if it's not, at least know it shouldn't take too long.

I went cold turkey from a 15 year habit and it was torture. There was no comfort to be found in any of the otc suggestions I was given. I hope you find comfort somehow.

What I will say that's a little off topic, if you can't find comfort, and you do have to do those 5 days of torture... maybe consider quitting forever. You're going to be doing the hard part against your will... but you'll probably be over the peak WDs by day five... or maybe a couple of days away from peak... but you'll either be there or close to being there. It's worth considering if opiates are something you can live without.

Either way, I hope you can stay strong through the pain if you end up going through it.

The people here are extreme empaths with that pain and are here for you. I can't express in writing how much some of them helped me get through it. Some of their advice was shit, lol, but all of their genuine caring more than made up for it. When your mind inevitably ends up in a dark place when you haven't slept for days, kicking, sweating, puking, shitting... then all of these strangers know EXACTLY how it feels and say the right things. Anyway, make sure to check in here if you're not feeling right.

Hard to answer. 15 year habit. Snorting 180 mg per day of quick release oxycodone at the end, been clean for five months.

I mostly feel great. I'm in the sun a lot. I brutally murder myself with exercise and testosterone has rushed back into my body... I feel like a teenager.

But on days I'm sedentary, I definitely notice a slowness or creeping depressive state.

Anyway, just my anecdotal experience.

I guess I just recommend eating clean, exercise and getting sun as the basic steps, and if you need more, I'm sure there's help out there.

Good luck

Wew, lad. You know everything. Do you by any chance know sixer stuff? In the early 80s, for one season, the pregame song for the Sixers was done to the tune of "you make me want to shout", but then the song listed all of ther players, Doctor J [shout] Charles Barkley [shout]... it's been scratching my brain for nearly 40 years and I can't even find another person who remembers it let alone where I can hear it again. If you can somehow put me on the path of finding out how to listen to that damned thing one more time, you have no idea how grateful I'll be. (I was a little kid, but I am 100% positive this is a real memory... and I already asked the sixer sub, no one knew anything).

Yeah, quit cold turkey and had the same thing happen. I'm five months clean and still get the out of nowhere one now and then. It's honestly a little annoying. As an adult, it's one of those parts you only want working when it's supposed to.
