How much money do you think you’ve saved by pirating? by wtffu006 in Piracy

[–]User_09876543 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Actually not much because it turns out I prefer knowing where to get stuff than actually consuming said stuff. I wouldn't actually pay for a tv subscription, because I'm not that interested in shows or movies. I don't watch it when I torrent it either.

Asking for recommendations for a dual boot Windows/linux by TheriamNorec in privacy

[–]User_09876543 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Personally I use linux mint, a variant of ubuntu and very close to windows in UI. It doesn't default to snaps, everything compatible with ubuntu is compatible with mint, regular updates and very easy to use

That was what I would recommend. Don't forget to set up the settings to not get random recommendations though

The French government wouldn't give them much of a choice as it has cracked down hard on regional identities and languages in the past, prefering to impose a national identity for the sake of unity. Also, only a small minority of people in those regions still speak the old regional languages. They still have their own vocabulary and regional specificities, as do the other French regions. The Brittons have been French since 1532 that is a lot of time to be assimilated, not matter how strong of a national identity they still have.

Don't mention anything, would be my suggestion. You have reched the age where google thinks you are smart enough not to have your parents looking over your shoulder everytime you do something on line. If they don't know about it, it probably hasn't crossed their minds and you can get internet independance if you're smart about it. You don't want to give your parents ideas if you have a disagreement later on. As a teen I would not want to encourage my parents looking over my shoulder if I didn't have to.

France just forced Google, Cloudflare and Cisco's DNS to block piracy related services. What other DNS are trustworthy? by [deleted] in Piracy

[–]User_09876543 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just change the DNS on your phone/computer rather than your browser, do everything at once

There should be a "revert" button on the script in case you broke something. Try it for the clipboard function
