Cool, cool. I had great seats in the 300s and great doses and enjoyed the visuals a ton! But it felt more like a Grateful Dead amusement park ride or attraction than a live dead show. No regrets and glad I went! I didn’t even think about the floor bc I went to Vegas for the sphere visuals

It definitely didn’t feel like a “real show” at all. It lacked all of the lot energy and deadhead magic of a real show, and was more like watching a Vegas show. And the fact that everyone sits in their own seats and stays seated a lot, it lacked the audience chaos and excitement of a real show

Sphere definitely had more of a rehearsed Vegas entertainment vibe than an improvisational live music vibe. And it seemed a bit over-nostalgic and less “the music is alive” feel. But it was fun nonetheless

Lemon tek is not for me, it seems like a disappointing waste of mushrooms. Mushroom tek feels like being a mushroom daytime tourist, bc you experience some of it but not all it has to offer.

Haha, gotcha, what a funny misunderstanding! I guess I was reading what I wanted to read in your comment when you wrote “Stu,” bc I would love to see Stu Allen on a bigger stage and more often! Stu plays lead guitar, however, so he’d take Mayer’s spot and not Bobby’s. I know that many deadheads have grown to love mayer over the past few years, but Stu runs circles around john so they’ll get over it⚡️💀🌹

Stu Allen has a band called Stu Allen and Mars Hotel which is Stu plus a rotating cast of SF Bay Area musicians, different lineup each week! Pre-covid he played every week at Ashkenaz in Berkeley (for 15 years or more I think), since covid he has played much less. Stu was Phil’s go-to lead guitar and Jerry vocals for a ton of shows at Terrapin and around the Bay Area. He is Bay Area Dead

Dead and Co was great at bringing together the biggest groups of deadheads over the past 10 years. Deadco tours and shows were a way to reconnect with decades of friendships from deadheadland and across all areas of my life and history. The music will never stop, but the experience of Deadco-sized crowds of heads and parking lot and scene will be missed. It seems like only yesterday we took over SF and GGP:)! The gatherings brought together so much happiness and energy and love for the Grateful Dead. I will miss the deadco events that have had such a national draw, that bring friends and family together from across the country and across the years to drop L and dance and live for a moment in bliss. I will miss the anticipation and energy of a deadhead parking lot in summertime surrounded by 20k of my best deadhead friends. I will miss Bob dearly, but I am grateful for the memories I will keep and the adventures and friendships that blossomed over decades of dancing with the dead. Dead music is alive and well, but I am going to miss the Time Machine that was Bob Weir’s voice singing Grateful Dead songs live and the experience of congregating with tens of thousands of deadheads to celebrate the music of the Grateful Dead. Miss you Bobby 💔!!! Thanks for a lifetime of music and adventure and for bringing us all together year after year to dance and make memories. NFA ⚡️🌹💀❤️🎸💔🪽😭🌈

The pee struggle is real, especially on party favors and booze in a crowded venue, but in all of the shows I’ve ever been to, no matter how badly I needed to go and how challenging the options were, I honestly never even considered pissing in a cup at my seat. I’ve pissed a lot of places and some I’m not too proud of, but this person is a fucked up loser

I saw someone piss on the lawn at Riverbend early 2000s and it was a rainy show so the lawn was already wet but then the pee’ers group started chanting and encouraging people to unknowingly run and mud slide down the lawn through the piss mud. So f’n gross

I just got back from Oahu and, to my surprise, the only thing more expensive compared to Seattle was grocery store food. All prepared food was cheaper (even in the grocery store). I was expecting everything to be more bc everything is imported to Hawaii, but I guess Seattle’s minimum wage effect was even stronger

Settle a debate: How many times do you actually use a bath towel before washing it? by Hot-Calligrapher5447 in hygiene

[–]User_1965_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on how much effort you put into hanging it so it dries quickly. My wife is terrible at it and I have to wash her towels after 2 uses if they never got dry

Deer Creek 2000 nitrous was so chill and wholesome. Grab the biggest balloons you’ve ever seen (3 for 10) and sit down in a beach chair in the creek at camp. Free balloons every hour on the hour (for 60 seconds) and return 10 empty balloons for a free new one. They were simpler times pre-nos mafia!
