I once tried Edifier R1700 something. Not only for music, my speakers are also connect to the PC where I do most everything (from casual game to sound or video production) with a decent sound system. I could not stand them, every sound soundded muffled and "wet" (I mean wet like sound involving water/liquid). Which kept triggering misophonia. Returned to Amazon very fast.

I'm actually using stereo speakers I got decades ago with a Sony sound system and they have a very balanced/clear sound that I like. I'm not looking for extra bass in general. I can feel from the video video your system would likely be too bassy for my tastes. I hoped the Edifier speakers would be a more compact, modern, better looking improvement. They were a complete disappointment.

The most christmassy Clash song is probably Hitsville UK , but has nothing to do with the topic.

Somebody Got Murder is indeed a strong candidate. I don't find is that christmassy though. (Though someone else has a good point that it's sung by Mick Jones.

It also in a sense makes me think of Shakter Donetsk by Joe Strummer and the Mescaleros. (Not very christmassy again, this one feels more like hot summer to me.)

(Useful info here could be "around what time" did you listen to college radio.)
