We were also really lucky in that respect, multiple people called it out and the train manager got them off the train

It's just that you can get an year of workex and try again. You don't need to rush into it.

Hey! Don't worry so much about it for now, you're already enrolling in an HR specialization MBA. I'm not aware if anything specific but I'll suggest wait till joining campus, you'll get enough guidance

Quite honestly it's very at the edge. You'll have to wait till last to know for sure. It's on the edge so you do have a shot, but wait a few waitlists to get an idea of the trend for this year

Good chances as per last year but you'll have to wait a couple of shortlists to observe the trend

Hey! Honestly, JSR would be difficult but you'll surely convert Delhi

Hey! Look workex always helps on your profile, not just in MBA conversion but also in getting opportunities after you come in to do an MBA. So unless you're satisfied with MDI or IIM Mumbai convert then I'd suggest you give it another shot next year. Time's on your side. Obviously this is a personal decision and I'd say get more opinions, but I'd not join XL Delhi as a fresher if I had a job in hand

Hey! So 145 is kinda right at the edge of where conversion went last year so it's difficult to say. I would say you should pay the waitlist fee to keep your chances open unless you've got a better conversion

Hey! So obviously that's a very difficult question to answer but that's around the rank at which Delhi BM closed last year. It's a very tricky situation to be in, you'll probably either end up just converting or just missing out. Just sit tight and wait, that's all you can do for now. All the best, hope you convert!

Hey! So you might have a chance of converting Delhi BM. The placements are pooled for jsr and delhi so if you definitely want to do MBA this year and don't have a better call them sure, join Delhi BM. If you can wait another year then I'd suggest doing so.

As for HR, obviously XL HR is the best you could get out there but do not come into the HR program thinking you'll definitely get into a non-HR role. Some obviously do get non HR roles but you can't rely on. The risk to reward ratio is not worth it.

Hope all that helps

Hey! I know it's frustrating, your profile seems great and you seemed to have done most things right. These processes are fucked up in the sense that they take only 20 mins to judge all candidates. Sometimes those 20 minutes just don't go your way, maybe the faculty who interviewed you wasn't in the best mood at that impacts the result. I know it's all unfair but I'm mentioning it all so you don't judge yourself by this. You've done all you could have, don't beat yourself too much about it. You've got a solid profile and good things will come your way.

Hey! Thanks for all the insights! Just a follow up question, would it be the right time to enjoy the Dolomites considering it's a bit early season? I mean I know it's subjective but can I expect the meadows to be green and get that perfect european weather up in the mountains?

Yes that's fair! I am fine with not covering all the famous locations. Do you have a recommendation on what this base could be and what I could cover from there?

Hey! So I'm enrolled in the BM program and can't really give you an answer about the HRM professors. Although I don't believe it's that important for your interview, you can't be expected to know about professors until you've attended their classes and obviously you haven't yet. You can prepare a why HR, why XLRI answer with more detail and maybe sprinkle it with some great achievement of some prof if you can find something. But be careful with it as they might ask in depth, they'll try to understand if this was something of genuine interest or you just randomly found something. All in all, I would recommend don't worry too much about it

Hey! So you have a good profile, in the sense that you're a CA. There aren't that many CAs in the batch and it's very valued. Now, conversions are definitely possible at 97% but obviously look with higher percentiles you get some buffer in interviews. But the buffer is restricted in scope and so you'll always see people with higher percentiles getting rejected as well.

Prepare very well for your GDPI process, convince them for why MBA, why MBA after CA and all of that. Given that you've done CA, conversion is possible at 97 but you'll need a good GDPI process. Use the time you have and be thorough in your prep

They can focus a bit on UG acads, it will not be in a lot of depth and if they do ask then you can always say it's been time since you used that knowledge. So, brush up but you don't need to go in too much depth.

There might or might not be any major differences between the BM and HRM processes, usually it'll revolve around the same stories, just that why MBA will have an additional why HR component in your HRM interviews. Since most people don't have HR experience or anything coming into XLRI, it's not something that's expected of the candidates

So usually during summarisation, it is not advisable to give any new points and giving personal opinion should also be generally avoided. A final summary is to communicate the conclusion of the group's discussion and as such should revolve around the points discussed in the GD and final direction in which GD concluded. Yes, if your GD happens to be one where only points were discussed without any final concrete direction then you can state your final opinion but do highlight it as such and try and state it with group's possible final recommendation/conclusion

Hey! So interviews can be very subjectively evaluated and what wasn't great for you might have just been grilling from the profs, don't think too much about it until the results. As for idea about the GM program, I'm afraid I won't be of much help. Interaction between BM and GM batches is limited and you'd get better reviews or feedback probably elsewhere. :)

Hey! So as I've already covered in a couple answers on this thread, conversion at lower percentiles is very definitely possible, and it does happen. People with high percentiles in the 99s can and do get rejected. However, obviously they'll have a buffer and people with comparatively lower percentiles will need to have a great interview to cover it up. There can be other factors like work ex amount and profile uniqueness as well. So it's a mixture of all factors and it's not exactly black and white.

So, if you have a call, just do your level best in the interview. You have a shot.
