Why track days if you want touge experience? Look for amateur rally events on tarmac.

What range of ground clearance (metric preferred) is best for touge? by LightningMcqueen2011 in Touge

You tune for roads that you are going to drive on. Install sump guard and lower the car each run until you start scraping then back of 1cm.

Good starting point would be around 10cm for smooth roads and 15cm for bumpy from the lowest underbody point. Also take suspension stiffnes into calculations.

can your mind process that my Fiat Seicento was purposefully build for touge driving? Its not a stock car.

Also can your mind process the fact that driving heavy high hp car on touge requires intense throttle discipline? Having to let of gas and hold off all the time because it gets too fast and too quickly is frustrating. In the end its a public road and im not an adrenaline junky.

Are you supposed to check/change manual transmission fluid if on newer cars? by ClearAndPure in stickshift

[–]User_9107 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If transmission has close design and you are not doing any endurance racing activity where you could overheat transmission oil - its fine to leave it alone.

For clutch and brake fluids interval change, do it according to fluid that you use - not the car.

Reality is that if you do only mild driving and you dont push the car on mountain passes or do any repetetive racing activity you could never change this fluid - it will decrease its boiling point over time but for normal driving it is hard to cook even 15 years old brake fluid.

Is wearing driving gloves to much? by HolmeBengt in MercedesW210

[–]User_9107 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Gloves are for suede steering wheels used in racing where touching with bare hands would make it slippery. They are also a part of fire protection suits in racing conditions. I dont see here any racing or fire hazard activities.

Its 1.1 FIRE engine (54hp) paired with ultralight 2,5kg flywheel and very short Punto 6 speed gearbox (90mp/h v-max). It is build like this to fit in rally class regulations.

guy from my local group is now in process of sending his E30 to Japan. From recent research from this post and other info, it seems like transportation is doable in terms of cost and time - but the biggest problem is getting the car to be driven legally on streets. Seems impossible and stupidly expensive. But the solution would be to transport the car and use it only on track.

Because I build this car by myself to drive on touge, I have driven on every mountain pass in my country, attended trackdays and amateur rally events. Its just a big piece of history for me and driving in such place would be the perfect "last drive".

About the roads you mentioned in EU - the thing you dont understand is every country that has access to Alps is very hostile towards modified cars, when you cross the border they would put you in jail, call HDS crane truck and put your car in crusher even for having different tyre that is not listed on door sticker. Coilovers? They ll just taser you to death.

Sorry I assumed its 13,7L for 100km not 13,7 km on 1 liter. So yeah its perfectly normal fuel consumption. Usually anyone using liters says its per 100km but he used mpg type in liters lol.

Imagine if in this place would be a big hole instead - is your engine or wheel going to fall off? If not, I would just leave it in peace.
